Fire at Tenn. Mosque Building Site Ruled Arson

In the body of Christ. Or would you prefer to practice ritual cannibalism after all that is what communion is.

Did I mention that's a crucifix in a jar of Urine at an art gallery?

Because it is the act of drinking blood and eating human flesh.

OK. That's just dumb. Sorry. Only the tragically ignorant could possibly come the conclusion that it's offensive for that reason.

And the idea that communion could be as offensive as "Pi$$ Christ" is almost as offensive as "Pi$$ Christ."

The image is about body fluids like communion is about body fluids.

I hope everyone reports you for posting such a hateful picture.

That would be fine by me. Psst BTW I'm not the one that posted the image.

Now you're just compounding the dumb, and the offense.

I find it interesting that eating human blood and human flesh doesn't invoke fear like the image "Piss Christ" does. Both are dealing with bodily fluids and both are removing the fear of the bodily fluids. One is contemporary one is ancient of dealing with the same subject matter. "Piss Christ" is a work of art that operates on several levels yet its fame comes from the philistines reaction to it.

Yea, and when that guy torches a Koran, he's really evoking the symbolic destruction of man at the end of time when Mohammed returns to this mortal earth.

The mistake this asshole in FL made is that he's doing this at a backwater church instead of in the MOMA.

.

Well if that is what think that is what you think.

Are you really that dense as to compare some abstract piece of art to a pattern of anti-muslim behavior that military officials are saying could have dire consequences for those fighting in Afghanistan?

As a former member, I'd think you'd care more about our troops.

Do you really care that little about our national image--do you really have so little pride in American as not give a **** how we look to the rest of the world?

Or, he was just trying piss people off. There's some nice layering for you.

Yeah. MOMA wouldn't be interested.

So what do you suggest be done about it that isn't being done, champ?

You know, this is similar to something that happened in Texas back in the 1960's. A black man was chained, weighted down, and then thrown into a lake. When those who did it were caught they said "We didn't do it. It's just like a nigger. Steal more chains than they can swim with". Your post, seeking to deny the obvious, reminded me of that story.

The tone here is pretty telling considering the defensiveness with which some of you responded in the Discovery Channel hostage thread. You know, the one where some eco terrorist took hostages inspired by Al Gore.

The point is that in both cases, a person is being needlessly offensive to a particular religious group in order to create controversy. What I'm trying to figure out is why one guy is funded by the NEA and defended on the grounds of free speech, while the other guy is a horrible human being who hates freedom and puppies and is basically a terrorist.

Personally, I think they're both assholes.

The point of the image was to mock Dan's Faux concern for "tolerance".

Notice, no one was threatened, there was no violence, no threats to troops.

Some idiots in some little po-dunk church threaten to burn some Koran's and it becomes a major deal.

And what is the point of the Koran Burning? -- apples and oranges, V.

Only a complete imbecile would not see the point is that this is a pattern of events we're talking about not some piece of art no one's ever heard of... apples and toasters, V.

You always seem to be when you think it suits you. Going to answer the question?

I suggest conservatives stop making excuses for their fringe element and call them out on their bull****. I suggest both Palin and Beck condemn the book burning. Be better than the libs who never call out the Petas and Elfs.

Yea, I'm sure most of the people protesting in Pakistan are there primarily because of a continued pattern of opposition to the placement of mosques in NYC and Tennessee, not just because some guy is burning the koran.

not some piece of art no one's ever heard of... apples and toasters, V.

er....what?

Piss Christ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You're woefully ignorant of a well-known controversy and you're throwing around words like imbecile?

Why don't you try responding to the questions that have been posed to you?

What I'm trying to figure out is why one guy is funded by the NEA and defended on the grounds of free speech, while the other guy is a horrible human being who hates freedom and puppies and is basically a terrorist.

If this guy was burning a bible, would you be saying this:

Do you really care that little about our national image--do you really have so little pride in American as not give a **** how we look to the rest of the world?

Nice tirade.

You consider Beck and Palin to be our spokespeople to the world? If this is really about what the world thinks about us, you must.

Hello mr Pot...nice to see you joining the conversation...

Lots have already called them out...and of course We WILL see you calling people out liberal assholes on their Bible and Flag burnings...right?

You asked a question, I answered. Now you gonna get fresh with me? Seriously?

Beck and Palin have the power to reign in the fringe Teatard element. But instead they either ignore it or feed it.

The monster they create will bite them in the ass very soon.

So our worldwide image does rest in the hands of Beck and Palin. Got it.

You and Rev should form the "bring up what the libs did" club. And your motto can me, derailing one thread at a time.

Here's an idea for both of you and anyone who uses that moronic argument -- Why don't you be better than them?
