Why are people suggesting that we lock up those we disagree with? I wasn't suggesting that Beck be arrested. Someone (and it was so long ago, I forget who) suggested that Jackson and Sharpton should be arrested because they judged them to lack character.

You think Sharpton and Jackson suck. Fine. But jail them? Really? That's how you're going to "restore honor"? Tossing people away because you don't like them much?

He's no angel. And you all know it. You just keep drinking the koolaid.
Most of the comments from you I see on this forum are one or two lines of text. Do you ever say anything important?

Can't you see that every single criticism levied here is just as easily levied against those who gathered there. The only thing is that you voted the other way in 2008. This is politics and nothing more.

Same damned thing in my opinion.

The anger I hear expressed is identical to some of the things we were saying back then. And you all seemed fine with it.
Except that now that it is demo doing it, the argument from you is 'where were you when Bush was doing it' That is irrelevant now. Bush is no longer in control. So what you are saying is that you only have a problem with it if it is your political opposition doing it.

Do you deny that Cheney held back-room meetings with energy CEO's and then blocked the notes citing privilege?
Nope, I think that liberals blew those meetings out of proportion, but no one is saying that they didn't happen....So do you deny that Obama is having back door meetings with the banking industry, and Big Labor and not making those public?

Why can't this be uniting those of us who are pissed off about government instead of just being anti-Obama and defend Bush?
Because those defending Obama are constantly using Bush as the distraction.

Do you deny that we share some anger in common with Congress? Do you deny that, despite our political differences, we have equal complaints that government has become to distant from the governed?
Not at all. You should have gone to the rally, that is what it was about.

Why, then, can't we create a movement that is truly bi-partisan. Why can't we ignore our differences long enough just to bring government back to ourselves. At that point, then we can go back to our partisan bickering.
    We have....Join us.

Hell, I've been yelled at because I said I would create a tax strategy that - if a company created enough jobs, their effective tax rate could be 0% - and was then called a communist for it. What the hell?
Lot's of people are yelling past each other today...I am guilty as well.

And thanks for the chance to have a few words with someone with whom I can furiously disagree but do respect. That's becoming very rare around here.
    right back at ya guy.

Nah, that's not fair...FFG is a pretty thoughtful poster...I disagree with him, almost to the very fiber of my being, but he can not be accused of a one liner that's for sure.
