Re: GOP plans wave of White House probes

president obama has done so much damage to his party and other prominent elements of his base, if something ugly is indeed uncovered and takes off as a subject of hot and hurtful discussion...

GOP Vows Crackdown on Controversies If Party Wins House

Wait just a darn minute are they saying Obama, the Radicals in the Administration, and other Liberal wackos in Congress have been less than transparent and honest?

Well I sure hope this comes to pass. We might actually find out who Obama really is, so to speak

    http://http://www.foxnews.com/politi...on-wins-house/
If Republicans regain control of the House in November, some have vowed to launch investigations into controversies that Democrats have tried to ignore, including the New Black Panther voter intimidation case and the activities of the community activist group ACORN.

"It's very clear that House Republicans are going to use their oversight powers when they elected. There's no question about it," said GOP strategist Ron Bonjean who is a former Capitol Hill aide.

Re: GOP plans wave of White House probes

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa’s first subpoena takes aim at Countrywide Financial’s VIP program, launching a probe that seeks to out lawmakers who got sweetheart terms on home loans. The California Republican issued an unusually wide-ranging subpoena for documents about the defunct lender’s program, demanding names, addresses and e-mail exchanges of all those involved, a major expansion of an inquiry launched in the preceding Congress.

In the 111th Congress, then-Chairman Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) limited his inquiry into the Friends of Angelo Program — named for former Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo — to government officials, regulators and their aides. This time, the broad request could also net private individuals mentioned in internal Countrywide e-mail traffic. The chairman, primarily, wants information on borrowers who were a “current or former member, officer or employee of the U.S. Congress; a current or former officer or employee of a government-sponsored enterprise; or a current or former officer or employee of a state and local government.”

Issa said in a statement that the American people “have a right to know the totality of who participated in the Countrywide VIP program and what they did in return for access to it.” He said it is Congress’s role to “get all of the facts so that the American people can judge for themselves who should be held responsible and accountable. “Countrywide orchestrated a deliberate and calculated effort to use relationships with people in high places in order to manipulate public policy and further their bottom line to the detriment of the American taxpayers, even at the expense of its own lending standards,” Issa said.

can you possibly manufacture an objection to the california conservative's scrutiny of the foa's?

is there any reason senators and reps should be excluded?

is "collegiality" a credible cause for their exclusion?

    spin, anyone?

I give up. The republicans in this country are amazing. They have completely control over their constituency, constantly apply pressure to liberals, and attack with reckless abandon.

It's almost indefensible. It's okay to distract the POTUS and waste tax payer money on investigating a blow job, but there is no reason to attack a war based on WMD that everyone knew didn't exist? What is there possibly to investigate about with this administration? That they bargain far too much with conservatives that bully them around and act like school children when they lose?

    Unbelievable.

there's little doubt that this admin has been a foe of foia

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is demanding two Homeland Security employees appear in front of his committee’s staff to talk about Freedom of Information practices, the first subpoena that directly targets the Obama administration.

The request comes as the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, of which Issa is the chairman, investigates whether DHS employees allow political interference when dealing with FOIA requests . People close to the committee say Issa has whistleblower documents that prove such activity occurs. His first subpoena went to Countrywide Financial.

indeed, the making public of white house logs was the first obstruction of foia we all witnessed

    why all the hiding?

    more obstruction, now bipartisan

Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) told POLITICO on Wednesday that he will be co-sponsoring the legislation from House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.) that puts a freeze on EPA's regulatory agenda for major industrial polluters like power plants and petroleum refiners.

"The EPA needs to be reined in," said Peterson, the top Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee and a frequent critic of the agency.

considering the party's near 50-50 split this week over appropriations, it appears boehner will have little trouble peeling off a significant slice of dems

upstairs, uber lib jay rockefeller has been a loud proponent of stripping epa, and presumably fellow west virginian joe manchin in bobby byrd's seat will put a bullet in rockefeller's rifle

    fyi

With all due respect this quite ill informed.

Every major Nation's Intel believed he (Saddam) had them.

EVERY Dem thought he had them inlubing Bill and Hill...seriously, you need to be more informed.

Let me save the GOP the effort: Barack Obama is indeed black. Impeachment is therefore a foregone conclusion.
