Re: The Government Can Use GPS to Track Your Moves

This continuing trend of deciding that warrants are not needed is unacceptable. For actions that seriously invade a persons's privacy, a check on abuse is a requirement. There is absolutely no good reason why the police cannot simply go to a judge a get a warrant if they actually need to track someone. GPS tracking is not a common activity, nor it is time sensitive enough to require immediate action.

Does it take a court order?

It can lead to over exaggeration of threats, especially when agents have to show results.

Can anyone with the right kind of equipment track you too, if so, it would be a boon to private detectives and repos.

How do you stop the government from doing this when both parties are in support of it? If your vote can't change it then what does the average person do?

I don't see how it would matter to me.

    *ooooh noooo! She's going to . . . . class . . . . the grocery store . . . . *gaaaaasp* the gas station!*

I'd feel sorry for the person who has to track me.
I feel the same way and as someone mentioned, if you have a cell phone on your person they can track you that way..... they can also listen in on any phone anywhere whether it's in your pocket or in your home.

My wife and I would bore them to death.

A bigger concern to all of you paranoids should be all of the surveillance cameras and “face recognition software”.

(disclaimer: I've never done it, so I don't know what will actually happen.)

Thank goodness the place I live doesn't require that stupid crap.
Not to rain on your parade..... most gas sold in the US already has 15% alcohol right out of the pump.

As for cell phones, simply remove the battery if you don't want to be tracked.
