People who have lots of children for religious reasons creep me out ... and thats coming from a Christian.

I completely agree. "Jesus wants you to have more babies, and god is anti-birth control." Could we be any more ridiculous as a species?

That's way too often. I've only had botulism twice in my life and I'll eat pretty much everything as long as it doesn't smell bad.

A good friend of mine got e-coli from raspberries grown in Mexico when we were both on a business trip to San Diego. He was hospitalized for several days and nearly died. I got Hep A while I was pregnant with my son from plums grown in Chile. There's a good reason why I eat the way I do.

I think it comes from Genesis, be fruitful and multiply, but I would say that anyone who looks around can tell that we have fulfilled that command extremely well already.

I'll tell you what...you can eat whatever crap you want, and I'll continue eating fresh/local. I suspect more people will join me, in the future.
Superstitious religious nonsense? Love tolerant lefties... I happen to be a Catholic and have two children... or is that too many for you? Generally speaking, developed countries have lower birthrates, regardless if they have religious populations or not. The country I live in has one of the lowest if not THE lowest birthrate in the world ... and people are pretty religious here.

Most people can't AFFORD to join you and if more and more people do, the global food crisis will simply become more acute. I strongly favor government oversight of the food industry, but we need MORE efficient food production, NOT less...

I have only once gotten food poisoning -- while travelling in South America on a soccer tour as a teenager... even in my two years in China I didn't get food poisoning... I have an iron stomach...
