First off, recycling is overrated. Last time I did any research on the subject, the methods used weren't that effective. And it often made alot of pollution in itself. Second if the government wants to increase recycling they can sort through the garbage themselves, and send it to be recycled. No one should be fined for not recycling.

Not to mention, that we aren't running out of space for landfills or materials.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

Are there actually lazy pigs out there who actually can't be bothered to recycle their junk?? Oh my, it takes 5 extra seconds to toss your 2-liter diet pepsi bottle into the Recycle bin instead of the trash. Jesus Christ!
Its not a matter of laziness its a matter of the government forcing you to do something and then spying on you to make sure you do what they want you do.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Because this is what you get when the government does something for you -- it wants a say in how you benefit from the product or service.

    Next silly question?
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

I believe most places already require you to have trash pickup except in rural areas. I used to live in a place where trash was combined with my water bill.

That's what everyone said about seatbelt laws, too. And now no one really bitches about it. Because the burden isn't that great.

If they required you to take your stuff to the recycling center, I'd say it was burdensome. This isn't burdensome.

If you lived in Cleveland, then I'd say fight the law. Since said law would have no impact on me whatsoever, it doesn't bother me. It's not in my house and technically, the garbage cans belong to the city, not me. They can do with them whatever they'd like to do.

We will have these water bottles that are linked to a gps transmitter and a wifi hookup that will tell the g-man that we aren't drinking all 8 glasses of water and get fined for not doing so.
Remember Kagan refusing to say it would be unconstitution to make people eat so many vegetables a day? She said it would be a stupid law but not unconstitutional.
Well, she's now sitting on the Supreme Court.
