A while back when the Vietnam memorial was built many of a person complained about the aesthetics of the memorial. Now it is one of the top visited sites in DC. Maybe the same could happen with this Mosque over a period of time and we all could increase our understandings of each other.

That can never happen because Muslim beliefs and teachings are not compatible with the freedoms and restrictions found in the US Constitution.

All Muslims believe that Sharia law is the will of Allah and a secular government which sets itself as superior to any religious law, is not tolerable in Islam...So, how on earth can there be a bridge of "unity" with them?

Not "all" Muslims believe the same about Sharia. And there are some Muslim countries that are secular democracies, and there some that are a blend of constitutional secular democracy and sharia law, and there are some that are completely sharia. So it is not impossible to have "unity" with Muslims....
"All Muslims believe Sharia is God's law, but differ as to what exactly it entails.[1] Modernists, traditionalists and fundamentalists all hold different views of Sharia, as do adherents to different schools of Islamic thought and scholarship. Different countries and cultures have varying interpretations of Sharia as well....

Muslim states with blended sources of law: Muslim countries including Pakistan, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Sudan, Morocco and Malaysia have legal systems strongly influenced by Sharia, but also cede ultimate authority to their constitutions and the rule of law. These countries conduct democratic elections, although some are also under the influence of authoritarian leaders. In these countries, politicians and jurists make law, rather than religious scholars. Most of these countries have modernized their laws and now have legal systems with significant differences when compared to classical Sharia.[38]

The bridge to unity comes from reason and understanding.

The bridge to unity comes from reason and understanding.
From your quote All Muslims believe Sharia is God's law

Islam is a coordinated political-social-religious structure that requires total submission....

Again, how can you achieve unity? Can you answer the question?
