So then you would support building the Orthodox Cathedral there?

Besides, by loose connection, I mean everyday Muslims being assumed terrorists. For example look at what i said. They = Muslims. The subject in the sentence is Muslims. Muslims did not do it in the name of Allah. THOSE TERRORIST MUSLIMS did. As much as THOSE TERRORIST MEN did. You just argued there is a link between all Muslims and the terrorist ones.
And that link is the shared ideology of Islam. Are you trying to assert that Islamist terrorists are not motivated by their religious ideology? There is within Islam a large mainstream Islamist movement that blurs the line between politics and religion, for them they are one in the same and the terrorists that attacked us were driven by their religious convictions.

If that's true then there must be a link between all Christians and the ones who commited genocide.
There is, they both share the same ideology which is why it would be completely inappropriate to build an Orthodox Church in the town of Srebrenica.

By the way, there are THOUSANDS of Christian churches in many places where Christians laid claim to land and mass murdered thier people for conversion purposes. Like all of the USA. Or Mexico, South America, Africa, India...etc. Those are non issue? Those cant be used as case study?
The U.S. forcefully converted people to Christianity? Anyways we're not talking about centuries old vendettas here we are talking about less than a decade. I'm not calling for the dismantling of the Dome of the Rock, the Blue Mosque of Iran, or the The Sultanahmet Camii of Turkey now am I?

The KKK is in pretty poor taste too, yet we always come to the conclusion that your lack of approval is irrelevant thanks to the good ol' constitution.
    and so it goes...

White people claiming God killed the troops because he hates "fags" are old, ignored news stories so we can discuss how distasteful it is to build a mosque near Ground Zero.

    LOL

Yes my approval is inconsquential, however, that doesn't mean that I will defend the KKK itself the way you seem to be defending not just the rights of this group but the group itself.

Actually Westboro Baptist Church is almost always counter-protested and for good reason.

Would you support the Westboro Baptist Church opening up a new church on or near the site where Mathew Shepherd was murdered?

The terrorists weren't so oppressed that they couldn't enjoy a few lap dances at a strip club in Vegas before they hijacked the planes. I can only assume you are ignoring that fact because you think strip clubs are "sacred".

So then I can only assume that you're all for an Orthodox Cathedral in the town of Srebrenica. If not you must be a bigot.
Name calling, tsk, tsk, tsk. Your entire argument is a fallacy.

Over 300 Million people in this country and you think you are somehow capable and worthy of judging the intentions, or ill intentions of such a small group of people in one tiny instance.

Just saying, its strange, the group you choose to pick on.

I can think of a lot of way more distasteful gestures mades by small groups in the public. Even the strip clubs in the same Manhattan neighborhood, or the crazy white Christians who think dead troops are god's punishment to us for accepting gays, or the kkk, or I don't know, actual terrorists.
    and so it goes...

AQ sees a victory in every dead American.

Until they've "won," the COMMUNITY CENTER with a mosque NEAR ground zero should be seen as just that.
It's a Mosque which doubles as an Islamic Community Center until you can provide evidence that they will be holding daily reliigious services for other non-Muslim members of the Community.

They are already part of the community. They already own the property and have for some time. They can and should do whatever they want on thier property, ESPECIALLY practice thier religion. You are literally arguing AGAINST the inherant values this country was founded on.
No I am literally arguing that the motivation behind this Mosque is one of deliberate division and incitement.

I am arguing that they have the right to build it and practice their religion, I am, also, arguing that we have the right to protest it. The inherent values upon which this country were founded are a two way street I can support the National Socialists right to assembly and speech while simultaneously condemning them as the assholes that they are.

I understand your not arguing about the constitutionality, your arguing about the poor taste...Well then why aren't you so proactively against the white Christians ACTUALLY protesting the funerals of those who died in the war because "God hates fags." That is thier constitutional right, but holy ****, a mosque near Ground Zero is just way too far!
lol, I road with the Patriot Guard Riders down in Spring Hill.

Re: Ground Zero Mosque On The Move?

If you want to take a nice close look at the issue....

Let us argue whether or not us arguing about the intentions of a man who owns property and wants to use it as a community center with a mosque, is actually breaking news?

It's so sad the fights you folks try to pick.

"Aside from Constitutional rationale, its in poor taste" somehow needs to be applied to this situation rather than a slew of actually scary premises, like the Michigan Militia than turned out Timothy McVeigh, or Evangelicals who protest military funerals, or eco-terrorists, or racism and our disregarding of its existence, or self righteous right wingers who know what's best for all Americans, and that if a majority says so, than the minorities must suffer.

Hate to break it to ya, but here's a few results to some polls you should cite....
A vast majority of Americans were against civil rights prior to its passage through congress. The vast majority of Germans in the late thirties were active voluntary members of the Nazi party. The majority of Americans voted for Andrew Jackson largely due to his notorious reputation as a brutal military leader and proponent of the eradication of Indians in order to move West. The majority of Americans think there shouldn't be a mosque near Ground Zero.

Sometimes, the majority isn't always right.
    and so it goes...
