that would be 52 to 48 in the most Liberal state in the union...........You want me to pull up Mississippi's vote on a constitutional amendment............It won by about 85%..........

Bottom line if gay marriage was winning they would not lose every time there is a vote taken.........31-0 cons amendemnts with more coming in Nov.............You on the left can poo poo this all you want but the facts remain the American people are against gay marriage...........
Man! Do you not pay attention at all or are you just lost in your own little world that you ignore everything that contradicts your world view?

The polls show that public opinion is moving -- very rapidly -- toward acceptance of gay marriage. Every poll, without exception. Even in elections, where votes against gay marriage win by smaller and smaller margins every time.

    The trend is undeniable.

The poll posted earlier was the first that showed that more approved than disapproved. It was going to happen sooner or later given the trend. Not every poll will agree, but before you know it, they all will have a majority approving it.

Once more: This was about what people are thinking NOW. Not what they thought years ago when this first started showing up in opinion polls and on ballot boxes.

    You understand that, right?

Only you would think that citing your bad math that publicly corrected is a good idea.

Once again, 50> is a majority. Both you and Prof need to retake basic math.

RyrineaHaruno is correct largely because you don't understand what "majority" means.

never used the word majority on this thread, my mathematical comrade

made a point instead of looking at PLURALITIES

but now that you mention it

on immigration, a MAJORITY of americans oppose president pie-in-the-face's provocative position, 59 to 32, a PLURALITY of 27

on the mosque, the MAJORITY of your neighbors and peers disagree with obtuse obama's idiotic intervention of himself into this new york nest of hornets, 68 to 39, a PLURALITY of 29 (including a very near MAJORITY of ny DEMOCRATS, exactly 50% of em)

on birthright citizenship, the MAJORITY of your equals find barack hussein obama's views alien, 58 to 24, a PLURALITY of 34

on REPEAL of the obamacare mandate, missourians who are never wrong have spoken, a solid MAJORITY, 71 to 29 in favor of REPEAL, a PLURALITY of 42

on drilling, another (or, more likely, probably pretty much the same) MAJORITY of the electorate stand against the presidential poser's preposterous posture, 64 to 21, a PLURALITY of 43

just look at these issues---the border, the mosque, citizenship, REPEAL, drilling

and look at the PLURALITIES---TWENTY SEVEN, TWENTY NINE, THIRTY FOUR, FORTY TWO, FORTY THREE...

    aren't they beautiful?

indeed, the PLURALITIES of americans opposed to oblivious obama on the latter two issues, REPEAL and drilling, equal or EXCEED his lastest JOB APPROVAL, posted by gallup today, another new low

Gallup.Com - Daily News, Polls, Public Opinion on Government, Politics, Economics, Management

    LOL!

    thanks for pointing it out

Obama may surpass Bush as unpopular.

You may want to relook at a comparison of Bush and Obama

Popularity Contests - The Corner - National Review Online

Here’s an interesting data point comparison: Barack Obama’s approval rating in the Gallup Poll today is 61 percent, with 28 percent disapproving (the Real Clear Politics aggregate of polls has his overall job approval rating at 59.8 percent). A March 5-7, 2001 Gallup poll found President Bush’s job approval at 63 percent as well, with only 22 percent disapproving. So George W. Bush, at a comparable time in his presidency, was in marginally better shape than Barack Obama is right now, at least based on the Gallup Poll survey.

This runs counter to conventional wisdom that Obama is tremendously popular, and that Bush (based on the divisive nature of the 2000 election) was not. In fact, according to the Gallup Poll data, what President Bush did was rise in the esteem of the public during the first five weeks of his presidency, while Obama has lost a bit of altitude.

Re: Majority of Americans now support gay marriage according to CNN poll.

Although I am gay, I am not in favor of gay marriage.

I consider it a heterosexual institution and want *no* part in it. Many gay men I have spoken to have stated that although they would never get married, they want gay marriage in order to stick it to the het's. I find that repulsive and anti-freedom.

However, if Americans wish to make gay marriage legal, I have *no* problem with it at all.

My fear is that the Obama Administration will use police power through an executive order (or other punitive action) to require church's (or religious institutions, societies or groups) to adhere to gay marriage, essentially using force to exact compliance.

Do you support civil unions? At the very least I would think you would want the sane benefits and rights as straight couples.

Johnny, I do support civil unions, mainly since they bind (through contract) and allow the partner an equal say in all stated affairs between both parties in case of emergency or death. I have always beleived that traditional marriage is between a man and woman for the express purpose of rearing children.

gays can rear children too, and studies have proven that it is not detrimental to the children in any way.
