Gregg Gutfeld, host of the FOX News show "Red Eye," announced on his show Monday that he would be opening up a gay bar for Islamic men right next door to the highly controversial mosque being built near Ground Zero.

Gutfeld also posted his plans on his blog, The Daily Gut , "I'm announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space. This is not a joke. I've already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance."

Gregg Gutfeld Says He Plans to Open Gay Bar Next to Mosque

Its a free country right? :lamo

Great! I propose a Roast pulled Pork joint on the other side....You know, for the munchies.

Got any suggestions for the name?

Outfadel? Mecca me Hot?

Funny :rofl

Come now though.

They don't have to be disrespectful of eachother.

IMHO Both have rights to build there. If they're intolerant of eachother being next door neighbours. They can both go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned.

Especially if the Mosque planners protest the gay bar being built. I'm not sticking my necks out for them on Freedom of Religion grounds if they can't respect private property rights ;)

Perhaps a dog kennel on the other side? Maybe the barking would drown out the calls to prayer.

Good luck getting a permit to build a strip club next to a house of worship in Manhattan.

I thought it was a free country

It is. However that's not what I'm talking about. Care to troll your own thread with more purposedly obtuse comments?

:prof They still have permitting requirements & zoning ordinances, just like any other city. Most cities won't allow a strip club to be built next to a school, either.
Which is a shame, too. I think it would be a great lesson for all the girls at that particular school on the necessity to get a diploma.

Add to that: hospitals, old folks homes, day cares etc.

His strawman is that when people argued that these people had every right to build a mosque near 9/11, it was an argument based on the U.S. being a 'free country'. The real argument was that these people had not committed a single crime in obtaining the rights and permits to build a land and prohibiting them from building a mosque through legislation or the feelings of the public would violate their first amendment rights.

He's trying to build a bar, not a strip club.

That being the case, would it be difficult to get a liquor license in this instance?

Considering that Greg Gutfeld is a comedian, I'd say that this isn't a serious attempt at all. Of course, if he is serious he certainly has a right to do so, but it seems like it would be a poor investment. It's probably just a lame excuse to make jokes that are both homophobic and anti-Islamic at the same time, very poor taste.

So it isn't a free country. Cities do descriminate on who can put what where.

We heard so much from the other thread that if they have the money and the property is available they should be able to put a Mosque anywhere they want. Double standard FTW

What crime has Gutfeld committed? Your argument is so thin its almost transparent

Yes, cities do make zoning decisions to group appropriate services and businesses together. Churches are almost always allowed to build almost anywhere, because there is a belief that they are a necessary and vital part of the community whose contributions are extremely positive. As you'll note, there are already several churches in the vicinity of ground zero.

However, bars and strip clubs are usually limited to specific sections of the community, away from residential areas, Schools, etc., because they are believed to be a more negative and disorderly influence.

By the way, your reasoning in this thread is pathetic.

does not follow from this:

Logic FTW!

That doesn't even make sense. I'll ask it again, how can you claim its a free country and support building the mosque and be against Gutfeld's plan if the property is zoned approperiatly and he wants to put his business next door? Explain yourself.

Pathetic attempt.

Actually its perfect. You as always do not want to admit the same moral argument is being used for both. Only one gets preferential treatment from people like you.

No. It's trolling when you don't understand the comments being made by people so you jump into wave a flag mode. It would take somebody far more connected than a FOX News commentator to get a licquor license and operate next door to a house of worship in any state. That's what my argument was in reference to. When you're ready to discuss my statements, maybe you can come back to your thread?

Explain the moral difference between the two. How can one be morally enforced and the other not be?
