I'm glad I don't share in a worldview where law abiding Muslims exercising their legal rights to build a mosque is tantamount to "the extremists getting worse." If that's "simple minded" so be it, but it isn't. What is simple minded is treating all people of a world religion as if they are represented by a small group of criminal extremists, and that kind of attitude is precisely what the terrorists wanted. So, congratulations, VM, on letting the terrorists win-- or at least beat you. I, however, do not want to give in to the evil plot of bigoted extremists of either the Islamic or Christian variety.

Ive attended Muslim prayer meetings. I have no problems with muslims per se. Get rid of the ones that are out there slaughtering innocent men, women, and children, and hell, let em move in next door.

Unfortunately there is this leeeeeetle tiny problem with regard to some of those folks...they actually think that their religion teaches it is acceptable to rape infidels, to saw of the heads of children while chanting praise to their god, that its all justified.

picking up pieces of people will influence you just a little bit. but you will notice...I DONT judge them all the same...I just know that those extremists will use this as a means of creating more evil.

What If I like to treat ALL people of ANY "revealed" religion that prothlesizes as if they are represented by a large group of criminal extremists?

Like I've said before, I disagree with that, but for different reasons. But if this is your stated belief you should really examine it, and see if it's accurate. Does every other "revealed" religion get your blood boiling the way Islam does? Are you protesting churches as well as mosques? If so, then I commend you for your principled stand as much as I might disagree with it. It is still unfair and small minded to paint all people of faith with such a broad brush, however I do not think this view has the same overtones of racism and xenophobia.

Dare to dream, baby...dare to dream. personally? I think Americans are so lulled by their sense of superiority and 'tolerence' that they go through life with their eyes wide shut.

I HOPE I'm wrong and you are right. I TRULY TRULY do. I think some of the video of extremists training right here in the good ol USA are a little worrisome...but...thats just me...

The world is FULL of dicks. Dont be a dick. Show me where I have said we should stop the mosque. Show me where i said they SHOULDNT have the right to practice freely. Show me. All I said was that it made me want to puke. Did you see me say..."It made me want to puke...so...I grabbed my flamethrower and burned that mother****er down"?

I apologize if I mischaracterized your argument. If I was mistaken about the implications of your "made me want to puke" line, then you'll have to enlighten me as to what else it possible could have meant. I must have missed the part where you said, "it made me want to puke, but I respect their right to worship as they please."
