I love the "outrage" here. It's hilarious, and quite ignorant. Seriously, most of the money came from her wallet, and she can't go around without secret service. What do you expect her to do? Send everyone who's pissed they couldn't go to Spain a present?

Oh, and doesn't secret service have to accompany the president, even after they left office? So what happens when the Carters take a vacation, and use all our taxpayer dollars to have secret service with them? Where's the outrage there?

I still think that if the number of people she went with wasn't blown up originally AND she stayed the hell out of Spain and just went to Disneyland or something no one would have a problem with this and/or it would have never even made the news.

In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

I dont know either...but if she WAS just sitting around eating ribs all day that would explain the ginormous ass...

Point being...if you are going to say something like "she's the bestest first lady ever" there OUGHT to be more than your own persoanl political bias to back it up...right?

During the first year of the Obama presidency, Michelle and her husband have volunteered at homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the Washington, D.C. area. Michelle also has made appearances at public schools, stressing the importance of education and volunteer work.

Ever conscious of her family's diet and health, Michelle Obama has supported the organic food movement, instructing the White House kitchens to prepare organic food for guests and her family. In March 2009, Michelle worked with 23 fifth graders from a local school in Washington, D.C., to plant a 1,100 square foot garden of fresh vegetables and install bee hives on the South Lawn of the White House. Periodically, throughout the summer, the same students returned to harvest various foods and learned to cook fresh-grown organic vegetables. In 2010, Michelle has put efforts to fight childhood obesity near the top of her agenda."

And she's also continued her career.
I work with military spouses every day...individually...through the Family Readiness Groups...through the Family Advocacy programs...just being totally honest here...her name has never come up, there have never been any webinars, nor seminars, nor any other kind of 'nars'...Id TRULY love to see what she actually does other than have a biographer write some trite crap for a website.

Same goes for that magical organic phot-op...I mean 'garden'...

Most of what money came out of her wallet? The travel expenses? The security detail? The accomodations for her security detail and entourage?

And again...the 'outrage' comes when your president says..."Times are tough...we ALL have to scrimp...save...cutback. OK...what I mean is YOU all have to cutback..."

Bull****, the flight alone cost $180,000 rountrip and they said they only intended to reimburse the taxpayer the cost of $15,000, now this wouldn't be as bad if this was for official government business, but it wasn't this was for her own personnel recreation.

and she can't go around without secret service.
Exactly. So don't go to ****ing Spain making the costs exponentially ****ing higher go to anywhere in the U.S. and maybe stay in a 4 star hotel instead of a 5 star hotel, but that's just to much for the Queen isn't it? Let them eat cake.

What do you expect her to do? Send everyone who's pissed they couldn't go to Spain a present?
Excuse me? How about not having the taxpayer footing the bill for the lavish hotel rooms for her and all of her friends at Spain's most expensive 5 star hotel. **** THAT ****.

The level of anger and rage you regularly exhibit makes me want to get stoned. Seriously dude. Life's too short.

She's contributed by the same means all other humans contribute (if they do) by being a productive member of society.

Why don't you look at some other first ladies, and tell me what the First Lady should be doing to meet the standards they set.

Can you quote me saying she was Maxx?

    WTF has she ever produced?

Not living it up like royalty on the taxpayer dime would be a good start.
