    The government owns 60% of the stock. They appointed the CEO so yes its government controlled.

    I think it's a story -- I agree with you. It shows such poor common sense that one has to wonder what they were thinking. Regardless of intent, perception is reality. It was a stupid thing to do.

    They are just lobbying the government with their financial "gifts" like all big corporations do.

    The fact that the state has a majority share in their company doesn't have much to do with it.
