After 107 years in Milwaukee, Harley could leave

Sure...those unions have negotiated a SAAAWEEEEEEET deal for all those auto workers...right?

Yep, for most of them it's called "unemployment."

Obama's going to have to use the stimulus money to pay the retiremenet pensions eventually.

I don't like touring bikes very much. Too much restriction on how far you can push those things. ;)

AT this stage in my game...if you find me with that much lean its because the picture was snapped just before my ass hit the ground.

You obviously didnt read the health care legislation. It is already written into it. The government is 're' funding the union retirement programs. We've actually had that discussion...and as I recall the liberal leaning folks believed it was absolutely justified as a component of 'health'.

were folks behind you beeping cause you all were going to slow? :ssst:

I did 1000 miles on an sv650 in WV two years ago in 5 days.

My Burgman 650 has three transmission modes...manual, auto and overdrive. In auto-overdrive I can get 0-60 as fast as most anything not exotic on the street. It will do 120 with a quarter throttle left. These arent your daddy's scooters...

for 8 grand, I'd get a Street triple..... Not a fan of scooters....

That's what I have, don't ride it anymore.
To slow and kinda ugly, although I like the yellow.

That's what I want but it's gonna be a while. :(

Different strokes...Im REALLY tempted to pick up the Aprilla...I keep talking myself out of it. But...its tough!

Ive owned a Honda Hawk, a Sportster, A Silver Wing, the 650 and the 1500. In city traffic the 650 is by far my favorite ride. On the highways that 1500 drives like a cadillac. Great center of gravity, great balance...it feels like it reallys settles in at 80-85 mph...and its just a really nice ride after it hits there. Doesnt matter what i can strap to it...luggage, backpack...the wife...

55-60 MPG...quick as hell, seat opens and can hold two full face helmets...

Only thing I dont like about the 1500 is the tank. The 'tank' you see is a false tank...the actual tank under and in front of the seat. 3.5 gallons...Id like to see a 5 gallon mod...

and no...those arent pictrues of mine. My Burgman has a Corbin Saddle Kuryakin grips and the larger and vented windscreen. The 1500 has soft saddle bags and floorboards.

The last one I listed is wicked.
I like the Burgman and Aprilla scoots are alright but the SYM brand scoots come with ceramic lined cylinders.
In Taiwan, they have lifetime warranties on the engines.

Plus the injected model get a listed 90+/- mpg's.

I'm more of a fan of the modernish BMW look.
I just checked out the Aprilla line of bikes and was seriously impressed.

My V-Star 650 recently did over a 1000 miles in 4 days. It was a great relaxing trip. 1000 miles ain't so bad, we went up from CO to Mount Rushmore and then up to Deadwood (that place sucks), hit up Devil's Tower, rode over to Buffalo, WY (near Big Horn). Lots of fun.

Interesting note on that trip. Two Yamahas and two Harleys went up, two Yamahas came back.

Yeah they are...and at 840ccs...you just dont need more power than that. Im not sure you could apply it if you had it. Small tank box, but other than that...very nice. The autos have come a long way

Give them credit for sticking around Milwaukee for 107 years...... I spent a week there a couple of times, and that was enough for me. Nothing wrong with the city, but the weather sure does suck.

It's currently 80 and sunny. What are you smoking?

When I want to save gas I usually just ride my dirt bike. I measured it and it gets like 55 MPG. Plus I can take short cuts through ditches and stuff:2razz:.

Sigh, my love of scooters has made me ghey to both liberals and conservatives.
I'm doing a service here, uniting opposing factions.
