the gop is successfully filibustering obama's baby small biz bill because leadership refuses to allow amendments to the floor to address this:

Health care law's hidden tax change to launch 1099 avalanche - May. 5, 2010

I say let the rest of the states reform health care and let Missouri do it's own thing.

jiltin joe, stiffneck nelson and kent conrad, budget chair and the gatekeeper's right hand, are ON RECORD---extend bush cuts to all

Kent Conrad, Senate Budget Chairman, Wants To Extend Bush Tax Cuts Without Paying For Them

that would mean there are others for whom they speak, senators with similar sentiments who've so far held their silence (in public)

do the apologists around here come across as adolescent to anyone else?

    either way, party on!

I don't recall any extinction theory emerging from 1994. Remember, we had about 40-years of Dem control in those chambers... so nobody was thinking extinction... only euphoria at the result achieved. No lost seats at any level... House, Senate, Governorships.

Some republicans are already talking about shutting down the government.

I am sure that osama bin laden is very happy about the whole ****ing deal.
All their time? I doubt it... but I hope they do spend some time. Sestak, and other such misdeeds need be investigated. It's the job of government to investigate such things. Or do some president's get a free pass?

Shutting down government wouldn't be bad. If they could do it for 6 months of the year, perhaps 8... after we repeal ObiKare... extend the Bush tax cuts, and then reduce some more... fine with me. These busy bodies are too involved with our lives... during their 4 to 6-months in session, perhaps they can work on repealing these burdens one-by-one.

Osama??? Osama... since when had you folks cared what Osama thinks? When you folks were bashing the war effort... emboldening our enemies... did you ever think of Osama and his Journolists at al Jazeera or any other hate America network?

No... you kept plunging the dagger into the backs of our troops day-after-day... but of course you supported the troops but not the mission? How coy.

    LOL!
It was a very low voter turnout considering only about 17% of the electorate in Missouri actually showed up to vote. So that would be about what, 5% of the "show me's" that favored Prop C? IMO, the low voter turnout is more of bellweather, than a few tea partiers voting for what they little understand.

It's not defense spending that causes problems. It is social programs and entitlements.

I'd love to see the world where the US sat back and did nothing. Watching the Euros and Asians getting eaten alive by the Commies.

Hell, the Euros couldn't even clean up a mess in their back yard. They whined about the Balkans... protested to get us into that conflict... a battle we had no national security interest in. Because they were so lame.

That "useless defense spending" has elevated the quality of weapons to the level that we can pin point targets... saving lives. I'd wouldn't mind going back the the carpet bombing days personally. That way the leftists and media wouldn't whine when we have a smidgen of collateral damage. We'd just flatten an area and start over. The good 'ol days.

There is a saying, "peace through strength"... and as we defend the western world... the ingrates should be thankful we have been around and are around protecting their sorry asses... yes it does cost a bit. Perhaps foreign governments should help share the burden.
