So California is a bad place because of a single movie and because Los Angeles decided not to keep the Raiders?

The fact is that California and New York are centers of commerce but that is changing.
The only reason they have so much of a reputation is because people moved there to sell their ideas.
Not because there is some intrinsic greatness of the damn place.

Other places are becoming the new centers of commerce for the country.
Most notably the Southwestern and Southeastern states.
That's because California has made it so damned inhospitable to home ownership and business ownership that no one wants to move their ideas here anymore.

Care to guess how many large corporations have left California in the last decade or so?

Sorry man, San Francisco is a great city to live in. Yeah San Diego is great, its because of Republicans, not because of the beaches or atmosphere, nahh its because Republicans.

They also have strong culture in literature just to mention a few: Steinbeck, Bukowski, Frost, Jack London, Ken Kesey, ad infintum. How many other states have 8+ professional sports teams? How about the largest state park system, not to mention the largest area of Federal parks. How about 15+ universities with over 400,000 students, the largest in the country by far. How about it invented the ENTIRE beach culture. How about the largest tourism industry by far? How about the hub for west coast marine corps training? How about the largest west coast port, for both military and economic?

Republicans don't hate California because its such a horrible place to live. They hate California because it is both the nexus of culture for art and social change, and the nexus of liberal philosophy.

My company closed shop on their LA operation.
    Completely understand.

Sorry man, San Francisco is a ****ing sewer. It smells, the Haight/Ashbury is a landing pad for meth addicted transients, the Tenderloin is a gauntlet of muggers, Goldengate is a hostel for heroin junkies, and The Castro is a festering broth of STD's. San Francisco is the very model of why California sucks so bad.

You need to learn how to ****ing read. I attributed the management of San Diego to Republicans, which is not up for debate. Republicans manage the city in a way that keeps crime down, the city clean, the budget on track...all of these things preserve the beaches, the commerce, the willingness for businesses to come there.

Yeah what a real good argument. California sucks because business and house ownership sucks amidst a recession caused by a housing bubble. What a reaeaaaalllll ****ing sound argument. All those other points I made are just irrelevant huh, worthy of emoticon responses.
