Israel demolishes Bedouin village

The court ruling from 11 years ago was stating that this village is to be destroyed since it is illegal, it was considered illegal long before the court ruling.

However I can't see the logic behind your expectations for a different treatment by the law. Everyone should be equal in front of the law, and being Bedouine shouldn't make them immune.

American Liberals don't believe that everyone should be treated equally, under the law. There are the, "oppressors", and the, "oppressees". The oppressees get treated differently. Look at how our current government treats people of different races.

They most likely couldn't get permits to built legally because Israel practices discrimination when issuing building permits. Apoc will try and tell you all Israelis are equal under the law. What he won't tell you is that an Israeli Jew will always receive a building permit before an Israeli Arab. Those are just the facts on the ground.

Do you have any idea how hypocritical you are for saying that.

You're the one in the Mosque threads saying they won't have the right to build a mosque because.... we don't like it...

You know. There was time that it seemed like I was the only one fighting off the anti-Israeli, Anti- Jew propaganda on the net. I swear it was like this for a long time. Of course I was armed with facts, the propagandist's, well we know what they're armed with.. :) Anyway, as a Jew, and someone that has close ties to Israel, I thank all of you for stepping up.

Facts on the ground need to be facts before they can be on the ground, and sadly your opinion has no basis in reality.

I apologize for the confusion, I should have said most of the Negev as some of the Negev was not declared state land.

Moreover, Bedouin are not barred from land ownership.

Never said they were, rather I said they were forcibly resettled. Notice also this little bit:

Under Israeli law, a person who has not registered his/her land in the Land Registry cannot claim ownership; but in the mid 1970s Israel let the Negev Bedouin register their land claims and issued certificates as to the size of the tracts claimed.

Effectively saying that before they were not allowed to even claim the land they lived on when the Israeli government declared it wasn't theirs. Also:

The government is willing to leave some 20% of the land claimed in Bedouin possession and to compensate them for the remainder.

I agree with you spud.
As a very strong Israel supporter here on DP, I can only continue to be disappointed/marvel at Gaff after Gaff by the Israeli government.
There was the Biden disaster a few months ago.
Then they got suckered by a bunch of Turkish Thugs in the Flotilla incident.
Legal or not.... This was a Bad Tactical move and PR blunder.

The oft accused 'Masters/Controllers of the Media' are anything but.
They can't even make their own case moderately well.
I'm going to request overtime pay as a supporter.

But for the record, I don't see this string as strong "Breaking News" stuff in the scheme of things. Just a propaganda cheap shot.
