    Music does has mood altering effects, but I doubt they can match the potency of recreational drugs. You can definitely get the adrenaline flowing with some good metal, but that is a far cry from the effects of taking amphetamines. I suspect that a combination of mild physiological effects and a large placebo is behind the high.
