I have yet to see this refuted.
The TSA documents I've posted already refuted it hours ago wen you first asserted this. Not only can they record, but these machines are networked, and they CAN be put into "super user" mode to record and save, per the TSA's own documents. So don't make it a FOURTH time being wrong.

If it "can" be done it "will" be done.

I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Well, really... think about it. Is it easier to sell a scanner that violates british child porn laws, by saying it can't save the pictures or to say that they can save, print, share, the pictures.

Then there's the TSA agents getting into fistfights joking about the size of their manhood....

Not to mention that going into one of those is equivalent to multiple chest x-rays.

Not to mention that there's been cases reported of TSA workers asking famous people to sign their naked pictures.

Also, the pictures you've seen, the 'black and white blobs'... that's the negative image, if you reverse the negative, you got your naked body, in detail down to the last wrinkle.

This is more about a display of power, and showing who's boss more then it's about 'security'. If someone really wanted to blow up a plane, or hijack it, they will find the way around security to accomplish what they way. There's always people out testing airline security as it is, and more often then not it gets reported that security was bypassed.

Ohh GG people, if I remember right before TSA there was Maryland State Police doing security at BWI. And if MSP still there maybe you come across this guy giving the kiddies a once over.

Re: Airport body scanners reveal all, but what about when it's your kid?

I know I should read the rest of the thread but the first page alone had me going crazy....

First, please present any indication that its SOP for TSA to "Strip search" people. ESPECIALLY 10 year old girls.

Second, so we are to simultaneously imagine that these people who are "minimum wage" dufus's as they're being described as a justification for why it would leak are dumb enough to leak it but smart enough to get:

    1. Into the inner portions of these machines
    2. At airport terminals where there is always other individuals around (as these are going into 24/7 Cat X airports)
    3. Bypass the security measures in place
    4. To take a few minutes to transfer the pictures to a zip drive
    5. And believe they can load it up on youtube without being found out or are stupid enough to not think of it despite smart enough to do all of the above.

That is the strangest set of skills for a dumbass "minimum wage" worker I've ever seen.

You all realize these things aren't just like your common desktop sitting on a desk with a giant USB port showing itself to everyone with no security protection on the computer at all, right?

    For ****s Sakes...

Also, love you all too. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go back to doing my typical "rube" things like finding out how to use a barf bag.

When 10 year old script kiddies can hack into banks from internet cafe's - is it really such a jump in faith to think that people who will work with these machines - day in and day out, won't get to know the passwords, how to bypass security protections or how to access the inner parts of it? Are you kidding?

When you work with a piece of equipment for months - you get to know not only how it works, but how it DOESN'T work and how to get around it so it does. That's not a skill set - that's just survival. As a person who has now worked in techonology for 21 years - it's no jump in faith at all. It's not IF it will happen, it's WHEN it will happen.

Gotcha, so we're supposed to believe that the individuals working with these machines can't operate a "barf bag" but are able to hack million dollar machines with high level security on them in locations that are populated by average citizens and other federal employees 24/7.

That makes tons of logical sense. We all know barf bags are seriously more difficult to deal with than extremely complex technical equipment.

Isn't a strip search, by nature, to search somebody for [constraband, whatever] by being able to examine them whilst they are in the nude? It doesn't matter if physical or digital, the TSA is able to do just that by using these machines. Someting we don't even give cops the legal right to do.

A simple solution is to have a set of "lead privacy clothing"

A set of "loin cloth" like pieces of fabric much like what you get put on when you go to the dentist to cover your chest. However instead of covering your chest they cover your private parts. Ensure that the pieces of cloth are small enough not to hide to much, but large enough to cover the area's of interest, then privacy issues be gone.

I said I wouldn't TRUST them with a barf bag... there's a difference between knowledge and trust. If I don't TRUST them with a barf bag, how can I TRUST them to not get into this machine, get the super user passwords, or utilize this expensive device for their own profit or motives?

It does when you understand the difference between knowledge and trust. You read it wrong so not my problem.
