If one actually troubles oneself to read the coverage of the NAACP resolution's passage, one quickly realizes that the accusation is not that the Tea Party is “racist” but that it has tolerated racism within its ranks, for which, I would add, there is abundant evidence for.

It's a simple declaration that the Tea Party should endorse, that it does not condone or support racism within its own membership or anywhere else for that matter. Period. That there is any controversy about this whatsoever, indicates that some within the Tea Party leadership aren't comfortable with that declaration.
Why should THAT bother you? Hell, the Attorney General, democrats, even the president all railed against an entire state and called them racists without so much as reading the thing. They voted for health care without reading it. And you are worried about some "Tea Party" article? Damn dude...talk about having 'bigger fish to fry"...

Just to muddy the waters a bit....

Think Progress Issues Fake Racist Pics To NAACP
In yet another display of disrespect to black people, Think Progress has apparently provided fake pictures of Tea Party ‘racism’ to the NAACP.

In the PR Newswire story ‘CAIR Backs NAACP Resolution on Tea Party Racism’, a link is provided to the NAACP website story of their resolution against the Tea Party. That story contains many jpegs of Tea Party participants holding signs with racist verbiage. One problem: the pictures are fakes.

As a professional Photoshop artist of over ten years, I found these fakes not hard to spot.

Upon close inspection you can see the digital artifacts around the letters on the signs in question. Clearly the resolution of the signs don’t match the smoother, higher resolution of the jpeg’s background. The other pictures on the site are equally suspect.

This shouldn't surprise anyone, but it will.

Hell, if I was racist I couldn't take care of my life or my family. Just because I'm white doesn't mean my family is-- and I'm sure as Hell not going to put some stranger over my family because of the color of his skin.

Oh, they read it alright. I listened to Diane Rehm's show on the Tea Party on Monday before the resolution was even passed. The Tea Party | The Diane Rehm Show from WAMU and NPR They woman from the Tea Party was asked by a listener why the Tea Party did not act against spending during Bush's term. The listener stated this might it sound like they were only against spending when the Democratic Party was in charge. Instead of answering the question, the organzer changed the response to be about people who are saying that the Tea Party movement is racist. (and also avoiding some admission that the Tea Party is just the right wing of the GOP )No one is saying that the entire movement is racist. (Stupid and ignorant maybe, but not racist.) The Tea Party knows that. By changing the charge, they hide the racist element of some of their members.

    Why muddy the NAACP's statement?

Racists vote like everyone else. By not repudiating some of the racist demonstrators, they are saying "come on in." "We want you with us." Yes, the Tea Party is courting the racist vote. If they were to say racism is wrong and we do not support any members who would make racist posters or statements, those people would disappear. By not simply stating that racism is wrong, the Tea Party is saying loud and clear that they want the racists with them.

Re: Black Tea Partiers Rebut NAACP

I'm getting so tired of this. It just goes on and on, day in day out, about the tea party being racist. Where ??? Show me!! I don't consider Obama being compared to Hitler (as distasteful as it is) as racist. Bush is white and no one called that racist. Being called a socialist or even communist is not racist. The closest I've seen is that witch doctor sign, but since that was protesting Obamacare, I don't think it was THAT horrible.
What really gets me are the lies that keep being repeated over and over. GRRRRRRR..... if I hear one more time about the N word being yelled 15 times and congressman being spat on with absolutely no proof, I'm going to scream. $100,000 reward has been offered for proof of this. Hec, if I recall, I think Brietbart offered the Congressman the money to a charity if he'd take a polygraph that it happened. Then, I think it was that Ben Jelous guy who said on Fox that people carried around signs saying linch the N........but never said where or had proof.
I really do think those repeating these lies should be able to be sued some how, some way.
This NAACP thing makes me absolutely ill. They will not condemn the New black panthers for voter intimidation (I think they are the ones who first suggested the charges be dropped) or the NBP who calls for the killing of crackers and their babies and says he hates all white people. Where's the outrage there? Yet they want tea partiers to condemn racism that doesn't exist and if it happens I'm sure they will swiftly be told to leave or get rid of the signs.
All I've heard and seen on TV from Black tea partiers is wonderful things about how they are treated. One lady saying "This is my Family! They love me" Things you'll NEVER see in the MSM. The tea party is the least racist group of people there is, and anyone out of line I'm sure would be condemned. We don't need the NAACP telling us we should when nothing has happened. The billboard came down because tea partiers thought it gave them a bad name. We'll take care of those things. We don't need lectures that are only given to make those uninformed think there IS racism. If we say yes we will condemn it, it sounds like it exists.
Racism did happen by SEIU against a black conservative. Where's MSM on this??? Egg throwing at the tea party express happened too, but no MSM.
They have to make things up to try and enrage blacks enough to get out and vote in Nov. and get everyone whose not already a member to be afraid to join because we are racists. Whatever color you are, please come join. I promise you'll be welcomed with open arms as long as you think we need to turn this train around.
This crap just really scares me. How do we get the truth out to those who don't watch Fox or listen to talk radio?

NAACP President Ben Jealous said Thursday that the resolution passed by the group on Wednesday does not call the tea party "racist."

The resolution the NAACP approved Wednesday at its annual conference in Kansas City, Mo., alleges that the tea party has used racial epithets against President Barack Obama and has verbally and physically abused African-American members of Congress.

A portion of the resolution does indeed characterize the behavior as “racist,” but Jealous said Thursday during an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the resolution was not intended to condemn the entire movement as such.

There. Better. Now the Tea Party (Aka GOP right) people can say they would be totally against any racist elements in their group. They are, aren't they? Aren't they? Aren't they?

I'm delighted to hear this. I was afraid the Tea Party would back up and fold under pressure from a special interest group, but it sounds like maybe they'll hold their ground against ridiculous public and political pressure. Kudos for them.

They can't show you, which is why they keep whining and crying. They live under the delusion that if you keep repeating something often enough, that it will be true. I'm frankly tired of all the crybaby crap.

Certainly, the Tea Party has every right to be the party with the big tent and let racists know that they will never be condemned in their organization.
