You can never be safe from a government that can keep you completely safe from each other and the world. You must choose.

I got a question for you Navy...

What are you gonna say if it comes back that the Majority of the military wouldn't mind DADT being overturned?

Who do you think they shower with now? And how does ending DADT make the situation any different? You will still have those gays who want to keep their sexual preference secret. When DADT is repealed and they are found out they can't be thrown out of the military because they are gay.

Pentagon sends out "don't ask, don't tell" survey - CNN.com

Pentagon sends out "don't ask, don't tell" surveyFrom Barbara Starr, CNNJuly 7, 2010 4:15 p.m. EDT

Washington (CNN) -- The Pentagon on Wednesday began sending out to troops a survey of more than 100 questions seeking their views on the impact of repealing the "don't ask, don't tell" restrictions prohibiting gays and lesbians from openly serving in the U.S. military.

An administration official confirmed to CNN that the survey is being sent to 200,000 active duty troops and 200,000 reserve troops. The official declined to be identified because the survey has not officially been made public.
They're also surveying 150,000 military family members.

I have several issues with this survey. (My husband is active duty.) First of all, over 100 questions? Holy cow! Not only is that time-consuming but with so many questions what are they going to do with the information? They'll have so much to "pick and choose" from.

The military medicial satisfaction surveys we get are less than 20 questions in length. Take that for what it's worth.

Also, since these surveys are being sent directly to people's emails they're not anonymous. Gates is encouraging gay soldiers to fill out the surveys. Is that safe? lol. Is it even safe for straight soldiers? If they repeal DADT and allow gays to serve openly and a soldier was not 100% in favor of that, will it come back to haunt him later on in his career? I know the article I linked says it's being done through a 3rd party to protect privacy but I'm not sure everyone being sent the survey will believe that and that will skew the results. In fact, gay soldiers have been warned NOT to participate.
