Hawaii Gov. Vetoes Same-Sex Civil Unions Bill

Not much would change. People can still join in civil union contracts. They will be "common law married." However, they technically won't be married. Only a private institution can marry you

See that just doesn't make any sense at all.

How about everything stays as it is, except now we license same-sex couples as well.

Pretty simple, imo. No need to overhaul all the laws related to marriage, no need to revisit all the SCOTUS precedent.

It's not too complicated. Government just doesn't recognize marriage.

You're against giving people equal rights!? It's not even about protecting a word for you, it's literally about your thinking that homosexuals are not worthy of the same treatment as you.

"The voters should decide" is just an excuse to cover bigotry. The people of Hawaii did decide when they elected their representatives.

It's bigotry because the Governor didn't do what you think should happen?

BTW, the Governor is elected by the people of Hawaii and represents them too.

There are many states who were originally for Civil Unions who have changed their mind because of the left and a few militant gays...I myself was originally for Civil Unions but I to am changing my mind....

Oh BS Navy...you are the most homophobic person on this site. The reality is, those who claim to be like you were against Civil Unions until the very probability that gays might be allowed to marry....then, all of a sudden Civil Unions don't sound so bad and you are willing to throw out your leftovers.
Well, guess what....too little/too late. Gays will be allowed to marry in every state across this great country in the very near future. Its just a matter of time, so you best get used to it.
