Re: TSA to Block "Controversial Opinion" on the Web

When I first read this story (not on DP) I imagine my feelings were much as MrVicchio's, then I became fully awake and read it again.
Realized the full import of what the TSA was proposing and then thought to myself, 'guess they want the folk employed by them, to actually do something constructive', much like a number of eminently sensible posters, I too realized that were I to employ someone, I would want them to work for me and not simply amuse themselves on my time and Dime.

Does CBS let their employees go to Newgrounds.com,go to Rotten.com, go to political forum sites for recreational use on company time and company computers?

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

AMAZING, the TSA has now reversed it's original ruling.
    What a bunch of idiots.
Obama's lot should try engaging brain before action.

Yes, how dare they try and prevent their employees from wasting time while on the taxpayers' clock.

I am -sure- this means that that government employees will no longer be able to visit the websites of the Brady Campaign and NARAL.

    Really? Where was this stated?

Cause the same sites I could go to yesterday I could go to today, and the same sites that were blocked were blocked.

What a horrible world we live in when white collar workers cant access ESPN, or gossip sites during work hours. Why the indignity of being treated like production line workers who dont even have access to computers to surf the web while at work is just too much.

Of course this is coming from a white collar worker who can access many websites while at work (no email, no facebook no porn otherwise no problem) provided it is done within reason and personal surfing is done on personal time

    Tip for TSA workers:
Get a phone with a good web browser. Use that.

Who care what a controversial opinion is? The TSA is blocking their computers from going on them. Don't like it? Don't work for the TSA. Done.
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK
