California welfare cards can be used in many casino ATMs

excellent point. the American taxpayer DID cover the losses of the wealthy, not just in the USA, but worldwide ... and it's not like they did not lose their money gambling

And THAT doesnt piss you off as well? SO the answer is for the citizens to get involved and make sure NEITHER happens again...not excuse the one because of the other.

Umm who cares? You just gave out the biggest welfare payout by far to the banking industry.. so they can keep using their gambling machine. These cards may be used in casino atm's big freaking deal.. but is likely they need the money to pay their rent.

Please educate yourself before posting. The banking industry has paid most of the money back with interest. Listen to the news some time.

What money? The money that they wasted away when gambling?
What's the success rate for peole who gamble to make that money *all back* and then *extra* on top of it?

Why not just get a solid, honest job - take their tax return and MOVE to a more affordable place to live?

To the point...their welfare cards shouldnt work in ANY ATMS there shouldnt be the ability to withdraw cash...in any circumstance.

Exactly.

If the taxpayers fund welfare to keep kids from starving and parents from having to steal to survive, then the taxpayers should make sure that the money is used in the way intended.

We, the people, can't afford the welfare state much longer.

Just because some states couldn't pull it off at all - and it's poorly run and riddle with holes - doesn't mean it's not a good idea - or necessary to some.

I think the real problem si that there isn't enough restriction and regulation - and too much money overall being given. It's not suppose to fully support someone, its' suppose to supplement their income.

if someone was willing to gamble it away or spend it on non-essentials, or otherwise afford non-essentials - then they don't realy need it. Their alloted money should be reduced by ___ amount.

I agree that the best way to end that is to remove the "cash" factor and just stick with a Wic/EBT system so long as the holes are plugged. (The way WIC works is that you get vouchers per item - like a coupon - you can only buy THOSE items on THE voucher and up to THAT amount of money vouched - nothing more, nothing else.
They vouch for many other things: cost of healthcare, child care, transportation - it's a paperwork mess that needs to be smoothed out - but if someone can't manage their own money or can't be trusted then they shouldn't be given money)

It's a card that works in ATMs. Probably never occurred to anyone to program the system to reject the particular machines at the casinos.

That's not going to slow them down.
They merely have to stop off down the street before hitting the casino.

.

everyone is corrupt. bankers use their welfare to go to vegas hotels.

welfare for the poor is crumbs compared to welfare for bankers.
