Dissing the prez, immediate face time....

Sorry you see a disconnect. If Bush had done this, I'd feel the same way.
You might want to read the rolling stone article and find out what was actually said. Hit me up with the quoted of him "dissing the prez". It's best to have facts before you offer opinion.

Are you going to put more words in my mouth? He was clearly grilling Patreaus to get to Bush. No where did I say he was being "unfair" to him. A little honesty goes a long way Redress.

    The irony here is hilarious.

I see, your just being snarky because you want to fight..... Oh well. Not really interested. I never claimed what you are dishonestly suggesting...

    Why then was McChrystal fired?

the point being, Obama summoned the dood within days, but when it was about the war, he sees him twice? Wow. Priorities.

Except there as no grilling, unless you have some new meaning for the word.

No one has done that. Let's try for honesty.

You did not claim he "dissed the prez"? Really?

He does not need to see the guy for day to day handling of the war. In fact, there is no reason to. You are just trying to spin this into something it is not.

yeah, bro, I'm not interested in your petty little games. You want to play obtuse, chide in with snarky personal attacks, dishonestly suggest my position that I never claimed, that's on you. I really don't have time for you and your true believer mentality. talk to you later brother.

SO this continues round and round about timelines...but...

Has anyone bothered to consider the merits of the generals (and the theater staffers) comments? If McChrystal is such a good general and they hold this administration in such loiw regard...is it just because he is a bad general (that doesnt jibe with everyones glowing comments) or because the administration and their actions and support of the Afghan war blows?

Well.... I did some reading around after I posted my last to you and it seems that it wasn't some months later..

According to sources close to the administration, Gen McChrystal shocked and angered presidential advisers with the bluntness of a speech given in London last week.

The next day he was summoned to an awkward 25-minute face-to-face meeting on board Air Force One on the tarmac in Copenhagen, where the president had arrived to tout Chicago's unsuccessful Olympic bid. White House Story: Daily Telegraph
So in terms of the length of the meeting - 25 minutes, we're both wrong but in terms of McChrystal going about registering his complaints - he was told at the time by Robert Gates which way a senior office should make such complaint known.

In an apparent rebuke to the commander, Robert Gates, the Defence Secretary, said: "It is imperative that all of us taking part in these deliberations, civilians and military alike, provide our best advice to the president, candidly but privately."

When asked on CNN about the commander's public lobbying for more troops, Gen Jim Jones, national security adviser, said:

“Ideally, it's better for military advice to come up through the chain of command.”
P.S. - my apologies for naming Gen Jim Jones as James Jones yesterday. I still think what seemed said about him in the Rolling Stone article showed distinct lack of respect for a Marine Office who deserved a heck of a lot better.
