One thing I find amusing about this video is that the then Senator Obama felt uncomfortable saying "Kicking Ass" when talking about armed combatants. He spelled it out instead.

Ahhh, a video of The Empty Suit.
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
"Fly-over" country voted, and The Donald is now POTUS.

I was simply responding to your comment about Obama's immaturity. The 1 hour stop over you later referred to near Germany is seen in other quarters as the first time Obama had to dress McChrystal down - the BBC reporter said in his Blog and on BBC news just now that it was a "Presidential telling off near Copenhagen"

For further clarification - Obama spoke face to face with McChrystal on both occasions and I'm simply saying what I mean - I'd personally prefer someone told me face to face rather than sack me from halfway across the world.

Well... there's a Rolling Stone article that seems to have gotten him in trouble.

I'm guessing if he didn't say anything at all about the Vice President or Jack Jones or any others of the US Govt - then he could comfortably sue the Rolling Stone for false reporting / libel and live in comfort for the rest of his life. Anyhow - McChrystal didn't specifically refer to Obama but his position as head to the aides that actually did reminds me of the old "buck stops here" comment.

Finally, for clarification - I referenced "a senior British Officer" in my post if it's important for you to prove that I did or didn't accuse McChrystal himself of saying anything specific about the President.

What does it say though, that if its about war, a tarmac and an hour will do, several months later, and only twice since taking office, vs. an almost immediate response to being "dissed"? Obama is a man child.

You must have missed out on some of the new technology available. I mean, phones, radios, video conferencing makes it so face to face matings are not really that big a deal.

I have video conferencing with my employees, several out of state. I see them more than McChrystal saw Obama.... Face time is not replaceable by technology. It shows an appearance of not caring. Especially if you are potus.

If this was the case. Firing surely could have been done via teleconference.... I guess dissing the prez is more important than the war...

Obama called the war a failure and rudlley drilled patreaus, I believe it was hillary who called him a liar, the contempt for patreus back during the bush admin by these usual suspects seems to have simply vanished....

it's shameful to be that much of a two sided mouth speaker. And no Obama is not the only one.
You need to actually do something original and watch the video. Obama specifically states(twice) that the problems in Iraq are not the fault of the military or Patraeus, but of the overal strategy from the white house. There is no "grilling", there is asking one reasonable question which the Ambassador answered. There was exactly no rudeness at all.

Watching videos before posting them will save you a world of embarrassment.

You are not the president, so it's a non relevant comparison. There was no reason to fire him by video conference when he would still have to leave Afghanistan and come back to the US. You know that the issue is bigger than "dissing the prez", you are just spinning things to score points.

How many times did he let Patreus speak?

And..... Why would he be bitching (starting around 2:46), about Bush to the General. Makes little sense...

Right, and your true believer partisan hack mentality could use a breather so as not to start with the personal attacks before realizing the other posters point.

    Score points?

lets see... administration of the war and generals, take your time, video confencing..

Dissing the prez, immediate face time....

Sorry you see a disconnect. If Bush had done this, I'd feel the same way.

He was doing what every one does in high profile congressional hearings. He was basically making a speech. What he was not doing was "grilling" Patraeus, or being rude to him, or treating him unfairly, or anything else you want to spin it as.

    The irony here is hilarious.
