kid asked the congressman to let go of his wirst, the congressman instead grabbed his neck.

what would you do if I did that to you?

Dude needs to be charged with assault.
Absolutley. While I didn't see what happened prior ot the wrist grabbing due to the editing (so I can't really say if the wrist grab was entirely out of line, although it looks like it probably was out of line), Etheridge clearly wasn't being threatened in any way when he let go of the wrist and grabbed the kid's neck.

Exactly, the touching part. Now you're catching on.

    Very good, Rev.

Irrellevant, answer the question. what would you do, if I grabbed you like the congressman did those kids.

Your lack of answering is pretty embarrassing.
Your trying to pretend these were two little boy scouts wanting an autograph is beyond silly and stupid.

Pretend, I'm a cop. And you want to make a complaint.

Tell me what happened, sir? Did an old man grab your neck for no reason?

What was he doing before he grabbed you?

    What were you doing?

    Did he say anything?

    Did you say anything?

And what is that camera for?

Please, sir, just answer the questions so I can put it in my report.

See, Rev, you're asking me to comment on a hypothetical in which I'm an idiot with a camera charging up to a congressman asking dumb questions meant to provoke an answer...

Since, you're in a googling mood, google "Hypothetical"...

Meanwhile, if I'd like to interview a congressman for a college project, I WRITE A LETTER DESCRIBING THE PROJECT IN DETAIL AND THEN TELEPHONE HIS OFFICE WITH A FOLLOW UP CALL...

What's not relevant are the two little turds with a camera trying to play at being reporters....

You're absolutely right that it could be argued that they assaulted him.

You'd be wrong, but you could argue it.

Assault might be a tad much, but he should have to go through sensitivity training for 6-months to 12-months at his own expense...LOL.

He felt ambushed and tried to move past them.

I love that he grabbed the little punk and made him wet his pants.... Did you hear the shaking in their voices: "It's for a project, sir."
lol it was a public official being asked a simple question on a public sidewalk by student journalists, you have more than adequately answered my question, you are completely out of you mind.

Could the congressman have shot them if they were across the street?

It was a public figure walking down a public sidewalk who was asked a simple question by student journalists. Ethridge and anyone who defends his actions in any way are out of their ****ing minds.

Wrist = a quick hard twist out toward the thumb while stepping back...

Neck = I've already escaped the wrist hold, moot point.

Neck (in Rev's far-fetch hypothetical where an I'm a James O'Keef asshat) = grab his wrist, then push his elbow out and up while pulling the wrist from my neck... step back. I'm free.

I apologize and burn the tape.

Since when do right and wrong have anything to do with a legal defense?? Sadly.

    It's called posturing.
