Dad Accused of Using Stun Gun on Daughter's Friend Over Naked Photo

Really? Because according to this http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/USTPtrends.pdf ; here are the states with the highest rates of teen pregnancy:

1. New Mexico
2. Nevada
3. Arizona
4. Texas
5. Mississippi
6. Delaware
7. Arkansas
8. Georgia
9. Tennessee
10. South Carolina

I see a lot of Conservative states on there with a lot of pregnant teenagers.

By the way, California ranks 15 (still pretty high - but lower than other states with large Latino populations - which is also a notable trend among several of the states listed here).

Further, the liberal states of New England tend to make up the predominance of the bottom 10.

So, facts trump your anecdote.

Oh, you think you've accounted for the variables there, do ya? Looks like a 5 minute hack post to me. I'll give you a moment to revise your nonsense before slapping you down.

What exactly is the problem anyway? The guy didn't even forward a nude picture of HER to all of his buddies, so the whole argument about teenagers being innocent and delicate flowers who don't understand the ramifications of sexting doesn't even make any sense. The guy sent a nude picture of HIMSELF to her.

Is the real problem that she was exposed to the image of a penis before her 18th birthday?

I doubt if the girl is a virgin.

I doubt if the girl is a virgin.

Statistically unlikely, but there's really no way of knowing one way or the other, nor do i really care.
She could be monstrously ugly and confined to a wheelchair, for all I know.
After all, he says he sent her the picture as a "joke".

Drugs and alcohol present an actual physical danger that is not present with sexting.

In some cases, psychological danger/damage can be as severe.

It's a stupid and pointless thing to do, and it often has negative consequences. And those negative consequences are increased with turning it from a stupid decision to a moral panic. Imagine some naive 13-year-old girl, in a moment of stupidity, took a picture of her private parts with her cell and sent them to a guy she liked. Imagine then that the asshole who received these pictures then sent it to all of his friends, who sent it to all of their friends, until the whole school was aware of these pictures. This is bad enough, and the result of her stupidity; something she should have been warned about, and should learn from. Now imagine that instead of pressing charges against the boy for distributing child pornography (which is exactly what it is), authorities instead turn their attention to the GIRL. Not only is she being called a whore by her school-aged peers, but her school suspends her, her parents ground her, and adults around her in general, instead of providing comfort from her asshole peers, seem to blame the whole thing on her and punish her even further. What would such a girl do? For the girl that this actually happened to, the answer was hanging herself: ‘Sexting’ bullying cited in teen girl’s suicide - TODAY People

And disgustingly enough, people are still blaming her death on sexting itself, as if it was justified to punish her for doing something whose only harm is that it is self-punishing.

Was sexting to blame here? No. The bullying that she received and her own emotional issues caused her death. However, the sexting was a poor choice and learning how to protect oneself is key. It is not her fault, or the sexting's fault that she killed herself. But she did something very unsafe and stupid that others took advantage of. The issue is safety.

You can attempt your smackdown, but for the sake of the board it should be in the other thread and it should also address the factors of poor education, poverty, and divorce that also run rampant in many (not all) red states.

And I readily admit that the initial post is vague - but it's less vague than your attempt to assess why California has a higher age of consent law than South Dakota simply by your assumption that liberals raise loose teens, which is a ridiculous and over-generalizing assumption on face value.

Now, back to the thread at hand.

Yeah, God forbid she sees a naked man before she turns eighteen. CALL THE POLICE. Or, instead of educating your child about sexting and teaching them to respond responsibly, get the guy out and stun-gun him. That'll fix the problem.

*raises hand*

What exactly is the big deal? The girl was 17. Do you really think she's never seen a penis before, and she'll be scarred for life?
