Hamas not a terrorist group, says Turkey's PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Yet this revolution does not include turning Turkey into a communist state, but carving out a Kurdish state in Turkey from what they believe is rightfully there's. There is no "Turk" in this equation. It is a Kurdish struggle. That area of Turkey lacks the substantial funds the rest of Turkey enjoys, even though the gap of the distribution of wealth is closing. Its no wonder, by adding the "communist element", a command economy gives the PKK extra support.

The PKK was not simply a independence movement it was a violent communist terrorist movement, it was the communist ideology of violent revolution and attacks on civilians seen as class enemies which gave them their terrorist stripe. The PKK was not only after illegitimate ends (setting up a totalitarian communist state through violent revolution) but it used and continues to use illegetimate means to obtain those ends.

There policy wasn't always killing innocent people. They've lost all credibility now.

They were always a terrorist organization, they never were a political party, your assertions that they started out as a parliamentary party attempting peaceful means to obtain their goals before resorting to terrorism is simply false, they started out as a terrorist organization and remain so to this day.

Just wanted to confirm that youtube and a great sum of Google's websites were indeed blocked by Turkey.
A friend of mine who's working in Turkey has just confirmed this.

Don't know about Google, but YouTube has been blocked in Turkey for 9 months since someone posted a satirical spoof insulting Ataturk. They can be a very thin-skinned bunch when it comes to taking the pee out of Mustafa Kemal. Nothing to do with flotillas however, if that's what you were thinking.

Here in Spain a satirical magazine was removed from the shelves when it had a cartoon on the cover showing the Prince of Asturias giving his wife a quickie up the back way. Everyone has their limits.

Hamas may have been "elected," but they also ousted the Fatah with a coup in 2007. Terrorist organizations terrorist and militarily expel opposition.

Well im in the UK but judging from what my brother told me youtube is certainly not blocked.
But what you said about ISP's must indeed be true.

Lastly, Google has not been deliberately blocked.
The YouTube DNS was merged with Google, so in order to block YouTube, the Turkish government had to block certain Google IP addresses which allowed access to Yotuube since the old block became void (because the virtual location changed) and as a result this has affected the performance of Google toolbar and some Google services. Its shoddy work and it is mounting pressure on the idiots to remove the block since the media has been bashing the government in its articles and huge displeasure is mounting.

The Cypriot Turkish government actually took Turkey to court last year because there internet is channelled through mainland Turkey ISP's (since the idiotic international community has imposed sanctions as though North Cyprus where North Korea). Since North Cyprus is actually constitutionally much more Democratic than Turkey, they challenged the block, and so all Cypriot ISP's removed the ban. No such thing as insulting Turkishness in North Cyprus, matey. Its much more independent than you think. Hell, i cant think of a single thing wrong with Northern Cyprus Democracy. Turkey is no where near as secular as Northern Cyprus. If anybody actually knew what the hell Cyprus was, they'd know that was the most open and democratic muslim majority nation in the world. I will go so far as to say i genuinely believe, in regards to Democracy, there would be no need to open any chapters. The minority initiative currently happening in Turkey was a Turkish Cypriot idea which actually took place and was ratified 15 years ago. Constitutionally it is illegal to give more rights to a certain majority or minority groups. Surprising eh?!

Sorry MG mate, but YouTube IS blocked. I just checked with my best friend in Beyoğlu and it is still blocked. I was there from Nov-Jan and was frustrated by the stupid decision to block YT for allowing a spoof of Mustafa Kemal. You might as well close down the post office because someone sends an offensive letter. Nevertheless, no one has been arguing that Turkey's perfect. Apo is an ICDNW hack and is looking for every way to paint the country in a poor light. It would be a very unusual country that provided him with no grounds for attack and no targets for his spin. The important thing is that one does not reply in disingenuous kind. Openess and honesty about the positives AND negatives of a nation are always the best response to propaganda.

There is obviously some kind of mistake...since you have both verified, its definitely my ISP which has not blocked it. These people live in Turkey?
