Even so, this is a huge issue and people are pretty split about it. The fact that thousands came to protest isn't exactly a surprise. That was my point.

So, you cite the Gallup poll, so did I. Then you dismiss the numbers in the poll you don't like?

    That's valid.

I didn't dismiss the numbers. I didn't see them, which is what I said. I also acknowledged that fact. Try to pay attention.

So you agree now that a majority of Americans that have read the law, or are familiar with it, agree with it?

It's not exactly something one can disagree with, now is it? The numbers are there. I thought it was a smaller margin. Also, I agree now that a majority of Americans agree with it? Please show me in this thread where I said anything to the contrary.

It would seem that 30,000 to 100,000 people (protesters) are ill informed on the law. Regardless, the majority approve. If these people really believed that the law allowed police to ID anyone would they really be protesting? What would red flag an illegal immigration more than someone opposing a law that cracks down in illegal immigration?

Maybe I worded it poorly, I apologize for that, however, you did downplay the support of the law in the initial post I responded to.

It seems today there are far too many misrepresentations out there, and most of it coming from the administration itself.

My only point initially was that it wasn't a surprise that thousands turned out for the protest. While a majority does support the immigration law, there are a lot of people who oppose it too.

I was replying to your comment that "people are pretty split about it". Not so much. It's pretty one-sided, especially down here.

Well, when thousands of people turn out for a protest against the law, it tells me that people are pretty split about it.

Do you support it, or oppose it?
