White House Asked Bill Clinton to Urge Sestak to Drop Out of Senate Race

I see no need for the obvious taunting and baiting with the cartoon. Not upstairs anyway. Hopefully one of the mods has addressed this.

Regarding the topic...I think a crime has been committed, possibly more than one, and it should be investigated and those who are guilty should be punished under the provisions of the law. I do not however believe that anyone will really do anything about any of this.

I am so very unimpressed with how our President and his administration have performed to date that I am actually watching Fox news again (every once in a while) and not throwing up a little bit. Further, I am becoming more and more offended by the way the liberal media handles their coverage of the administrations performance.

The only change that has occurred here are the faces and the names. I do believe that the Democrats, led by this administration, have been much more brazen about their political strong arming and coercion. They are absolutely unashamed about it and make no real attempts to hide it.

I've been left of center and slightly liberal for a long time now...I"m being pushed. Incidents like this push my political lean. I don't like it.

Who are you and what have you done with Lerxst??

Thank you!

You do realize that the cartoon is a remake of one that originally depicted Bush right? I agree that it is taunting and baiting, but lets at least apply it to both sides when applicable.

I understand that. I just don't think that putting Gibby or Hzlnuts names in that cartoon and then using it as a taunt should be tolerated up here. It is great Basement material though... :)

And I think Obama isn't just throwing ****, he's ****ing shoveling it at this point.

My mistake to insert Hazlnut's name. I got 3min in the Penalty Box... deservedly so.
Thought it would be funny to tie the two together as Hazlnut failed to back up a statement made about Reagan... but blanked on it as being a taunt. Didn't see it that way, but as a humorous avenue to try and get H-nut to answer his baseless claims... just as Gibbs/Obi have failed to answer about Sestak.

Most likely won't happen again... :)

Lerxst... you OK man?
Like Vic... I am wondering if someone has commandeered your confuser.

Naw, it's me alright. I'm just another victim at this point.

No, you're not a victim. You're enlightened. You may not agree with ANYTHING else that people like myself do, but you see what we have seen for two+ years now and it appears you see why it has bothered us so much. Maybe not for the same reasons, or the same motivations, but that is enough for me.

obama is utterly inept and comprehensively incompetent

i would anticipate and expect that progressives with pride, progressives with plans, would be prodigiously, powerfully and profoundly PISSED OFF at so sloppy, slipshod and perfunctory a performance

oh well

rejoice, remnant

this is what you've been waiting for all your idealistic lives

This is only going to get bigger and bigger.....

Asked last week about Sestak's charge by Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC, Specter replies:

"That's a very, very serious charge. It's a big black smear without the specifications. But I'm telling you it is a federal crime punishable by jail, and anybody who wants to say that ought to back it up. Listen, Congressman Sestak has gotten a lot of political mileage out of that, and it's really an attack on the administration."

By Friday, March 12, as Gibbs is stonewalling Major Garrett yet again on this issue, Specter is a guest on a WSBA-radio show in York, Pennsylvania. Since the show is in York, and not on national radio or television, Specter's answer goes virtually unnoticed. Asked about the topic, he says this, as noted above:

"There's a crime called misprision of a felony. Misprision of a felony is when you don't report a crime. So you're getting into pretty deep areas here in these considerations."

In a blink, Specter has raised the stakes here.

What we are now talking about is the potential for a significant unraveling of the Obama White House even as their biggest domestic agenda item, health care, sucks in most of the media oxygen.

If in fact Sestak is telling the truth, if in fact the Denver Post story about Andrew Romanoff is correct -- and neither Sestak nor Romanoff reported these offers to federal authorities -- Specter is saying both could in fact do jail time for committing a felony.

Even more remarkable is to comprehend why Robert Gibbs may now be standing at that White House podium five different times and refusing to answer questions from Jake Tapper and Major Garrett. If Sestak has told the truth, if the Denver Post got it right -- then not only is the person or persons within the White House who made these job offers in big trouble, but anybody else on the Obama White House staff who currently knows this has happened and has not reported it to the proper authorities -- the FBI, just for starters -- is, according to Specter, a potential prosecution target for "misprision of a felony." For which this person or persons could also go to jail along with whomever offered the jobs in the first place.

Quite possibly, that could include Robert Gibbs, if in fact he knows these job offers occurred.

Jobs flap seeps across Senate map - David Catanese - POLITICO.com

ms lincoln, mr alexi, lee fisher---they're all getting tainted and, so far as any of us knows, they haven't done anything

good job, barry!

thanks, rahm!

The Obi Administration played the Prevent Defense, hoping to run the clock out and lost.

To think, its only the beginning. Gibbs has yet to answer months old questions.

Add Dem(olition) Machine Blago and this could get brutally ugly.

Obi's cup runneth over.

you guys, as always, are so right

obi-wan-wannabe has so pissed off so many people

house leadership ("top house democrats," "well connected democrats," "one senior house democrat," "a second veteran house democrat who expressed the same sentiment...") told politico's mike allen and ms lee they worried if the perplexed putz could "walk and chew gum at the same time," they saw him as as "more clumsy than clever," they find it "baffling how one group of people can be so good at campaigning and so bad at politics," it appears "the white house isn't able to handle multiple major challenges..."

White House political team stumbles, bumbles - Jonathan Allen and Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

ouch

obi-wan-nobody has really pissed off a lot of people

but specter?

obama actually "worked" to "help" specter

mike allen actually compared the fool to barney fife

i'm sorry, but it is what it is

one would have to be purblind not to see

regale, remnant!

it's your reserve

WHOA!

I cannot believe they used Barney Fife alongside Obama!!!
It fits, but Holy crap Batman!!!

Blago will be good entertainment. Popcorn, Coke Lite, the odd brew...

All this just might be the start of something wonderful for America, and we have I'm Just Being Honest Joe Sestak to thank for pulling the tarp away and revealing the roach warfare underneath.

Chicago, Illinois (CNN) -- Two senior members of President Barack Obama's administration have been subpoenaed as witnesses in the federal corruption trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, which begins Thursday in a federal courtroom in Chicago, Illinois.

Blagojevich is charged with racketeering and fraud, among other charges.

A senior administration official confirmed that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett have been subpoenaed. snip

Also in April, Blagojevich's lawyers filed a motion seeking to subpoena Obama to testify in the case.

According to the 10-page motion, Obama's public assertion that he had no involvement in talks about filling his Senate seat contradicts information from another witness in the case.

"The defense understands that the President of the United States of America is not a routine witness and would not request his appearance if it did not think he was critical to the liberty of Rod Blagojevich," the motion said.

The ousted governor is accused of telling his former chief of staff, John Harris, that he wanted "a good gig" in exchange for an appointment to Obama's seat, either in Washington or with a lucrative private foundation.
This passage sounds like something Sestak and Romanoff could have had uttered to them... "Look Joe, we'll give you a "good gig in exchange" for pulling out of the race. You've got no chance, we can use your seat in Congress, and you'll save us a good chunk of change come midterm time. Joe? Hello Joe?"

I wonder how far up the food chain The Donald's "you're fired" line is going to go?

It seems you can take the boys out of Chicago, but you can't take Chicago out of the boys.
