Yes, but the question is 'so what'?
Oh it's just an item on the buffet of personal enrichment. Take it or leave it.

Jesus titty****ing Christ! How are you doing? Can you see out of it? Would you like me to buy you an pirate eye patch with the DebatePolitics.com logo? Arrrrr
Not true. I worked with someone who changed to a gal, then changed back to a man.All this guarantees is that you've never met anyone who's been through it.
One conversation with one person who's made it out the other side and you'd change your tune.
Sorry if any of my comments offend you, but part of the appeal of anonymous internet forums is that you can discuss these sorts of issues without all the PC hopscotch.it's not necessary to denigrate people you don't understand just because it amuses or disgusts you.
No, I'd say you're a target for a beating! :mrgreen:Let's see... So... if I apply shoe polish to my exposed skin daily, wear an afro wig, become proficient in Ebonics... I am now a black man?

Able to exploit affirmative action?
By the ridiculous definitions here... it seems so.
You see, I always felt I was a black man, never felt really comfortable 'round Whitey.
Hell, if the first black president was a white guy, I'm in man.
Know what'I'z say'in?

By their logic this man is really a cat and we should call him a feline.

I have great sympathy for transsexuals. Not only are they facing the distress of feeling uncomfortable in their own bodies. They also face bigotry and bullying like virtually no one else.
Gender reassignment surgery can be a good treatment for gender identity disorder. It is not "playing along" with a delusion. It has the ability to greatly improve the quality of life for transsexuals.
I have deep respect for those transsexuals who fight for equal treatment and recognition of their gender. However I think it was right to deny breast enhancement surgery in the story posted in the OP. A genetic woman would not have been able to get a breast enhancement simply because her breasts were not large enough for her. I think this is actually an example of equal treatment of transsexuals.
Perhaps they should just hang out at Christiania... nobody would bat an eye.
.
Maybe, maybe not. The mental health profession isn't an exact science. Then your friend wasn't properly treated the first time.
I claim to be neither polite, PC or honorable. I just say what comes off the top of my head and if that comes across as being rude, then... sorry. :shrug:What I do find offensive is when people claim that common decency is "politically correct" and that being a rude prick is somehow honorable. It's not.
Made in a horribly crude and insulting way...
By your logic, this person:
...is the equivalent of what you posted.
Only a vulgar human being would compare the two.
That's correct. I suppose I didn't make myself clear enough when I agreed with you last time. No surgery changes your genetic make up. If you were born with 2 chromosomes, no surgery can ever change that. Your sex is your birth sex regardless.
What I'm trying to clarify is that your biological make up is not what "he" and "her" refer to. Those terms refer not your sex, but to your gender.
Sex and gender are not synonyms of each other. They are very different things.
Out of respect I haven't linked the dictionary definitions of those terms, but if you would like I would be happy to post them if you think it would help the discussion.
Essentially, when people call a tranny "her", they are not referring to "her" born biological sex. They are referring to "her" roll in relation to everyone else.
How is it vulgar to point out the fact that changing your appearance does not make you something different? So yes a man pretending to be a woman is no different than a man pretending to be a cat. Although I would bet cat man really knows he will always be a man regardless of how many implants or surgeries he has done. Only hypocrite and a retard would think that the two are somehow different

I'm not offended and I don't really get offended that easily.
I don't consider manners and politeness to be politically correct. I consider it to be decency. What I do find offensive is when people claim that common decency is "politically correct" and that being a rude prick is somehow honorable. It's not.
And only an asshole would try to ruin someone else's life who's done them no harm.
