President Obama speaks out on health care paying for gender reassignment:
Obama To Aides: 'Plug The Damn Hole'
Let's see... So... if I apply shoe polish to my exposed skin daily, wear an afro wig, become proficient in Ebonics... I am now a black man?
Able to exploit affirmative action?
By the ridiculous definitions here... it seems so.
You see, I always felt I was a black man, never felt really comfortable 'round Whitey.
Hell, if the first black president was a white guy, I'm in man.
Know what'I'z say'in?

I AM DEPLORABLE.
NEVER CRIMINAL HILLARY (S-NY)
I'm not offended and I don't really get offended that easily.
I don't consider manners and politeness to be politically correct. I consider it to be decency. What I do find offensive is when people claim that common decency is "politically correct" and that being a rude prick is somehow honorable. It's not.
I have great sympathy for transsexuals. Not only are they facing the distress of feeling uncomfortable in their own bodies. They also face bigotry and bullying like virtually no one else.
Gender reassignment surgery can be a good treatment for gender identity disorder. It is not "playing along" with a delusion. It has the ability to greatly improve the quality of life for transsexuals.
I have deep respect for those transsexuals who fight for equal treatment and recognition of their gender. However I think it was right to deny breast enhancement surgery in the story posted in the OP. A genetic woman would not have been able to get a breast enhancement simply because her breasts were not large enough for her. I think this is actually an example of equal treatment of transsexuals.
The poor complain; they always do
But thatís just idle chatter
Our system brings reward to all
At least all those who matter.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
