Obama sending 1,200 troops to Mexico border

How about we do it this way...

Any captured illegals we find in the US are sent to work camps to build the wall.

You know, I don't think this is a bad idea.

Actually, for all the amnesty folks, I'd even be happy to make that a compromise.

Let it be known that any illegal in the country that comes forward on their own will be given the ability to work on the wall for a reasonable dollar amount (I don't know construction, lets say $8 an hour). Proof that they were living in the country prior to the start of the wall's construction would be needed. Upon its completion, and after a basic immigration test and background check, a 5 year temporary visa is granted that will become full citizenship if they recieve no felonies during that time and are employed throughout the majority of that time period. For each additional IMMEDIETE dependant (Spouse and children only) they may take $1 less per hour (down to minimum wage) however that individual will also recieve the same visa/citizenship package.

If there are some that prove themselves extra adept at it the government could even look into possibly finding a contractor that would employee those after the completion and keep them near the border as essentially the company charged with the upkeep of the wall.

Any illegals who are caught and are not violent offenders would be sent to work camps that would be working on sections of the wall seperate from the volunteered groups. They would be paid on par with whatever normal prison work pays.

Upon completion of the wall, ones who had violated no other laws would undergo the same general test and background check, but their temporary visa would be a 10 year one. It would also apply only for those that worked on the wall. Those who had other law violations other than simply the illegal immigration would be deported, the time working on the wall considered their sentence.

This would give incentive for illegals to step forward on their own, as it would give a chance for their family members to become legal as well as paid for their work at a much better rate.

The temporary Visa would require either 6 month or 1 year check in's to verify no illegal activity, employment, residency, etc.

A compromise win all around in that:

- Those in the country would have a potential "path to citizenship".
- Thoes in the country would have a way to potentially not split up their family.
- The wall would be done for likely far less money then would normally be required.
- "Criminal" Illegals whose only charge was being in the country illegally would have a way of remaining in the country afterwards, but also serve some punishment.
- "Criminal" Illegals who had other charges would be punished, but in a productive way, and then deported.

You know Jall, I almost think it wouldn't be a bad idea. Good thought.

So much for Felipe.... or maybe Barry just got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

OK…. It’s a start, but we need about 10 times this many troops on that border.

Obama is doing the same thing Bush did which is throw money at the problem to make it look like something is being done when it isn't. Bush did the same thing which is put the national guard on the border with no authority to arrest, detain or prevent illegal crossing. Basically they call border patrol if the see illegal crossing, which is what the minute men were doing for free. If they are going to put the military on the border then should have the authority to do exactly what the border patrol does and more. Not sit there and basically do what the minutemen were already doing for free. A castrated military on the border is a useless.

I find it amusing that McCain has jumped on the secure the border bandwagon seeing how when it came to tossing the salad of illegals, his tongue was deeper in the ass of illegals and pro-illegals than Obama's tongue. He must think voters have "dumbass" or "retard" written across their foreheads. If it was not near that time to get reelected he would be tossing Calderon's salad as well as every pro-illegal out there.

obama attended yesterday's gop lunch as a reachout across aisles, a bid for bipartisanship

but by most accounts he just grew testier and testier the more he talked

President Obama clashes with John McCain in Republican luncheon - Manu Raju - POLITICO.com

senator roberts, as a matter of fact, suggested the prez take a valium if he is ever to talk to the other side again

now, the white house, to be fair, is denying all these characterizations of crankiness

but they appear to be about the only ones

he "squared off" with the guy who's butt he beat sixteen horrible months ago, maverick mccain

their dispute was over the border

both described their particular exchange as civil, "frank and respectful," which is good, i guess

but mccain afterward said he told obama: "we need to secure the borders first. HE DIDN'T AGREE"

(emphasis mine)

an hour later, our impromptu, fly-by-nite-with-no-plan president announced TWELVE HUNDRED NAT'L GUARD

the ponderous deliberations of an afternoon's consideration---THIS is how our president adopts policy

IN PUBLIC

For some reason I think the government will just hide the dead count so they can look like they are cracking down on illegal immigration.

That reason is known as "paranoia."
