    Check out post #47.
I know where "pretty much ruin the economy" came from, I just didn't think it was possible to misconstrue what he said that badly. Do you actually think that he said that that's OK, or are you just making things up?

Then why did you ask for a link?

Yes, I think that's what he said beeeecauuuuuse that is what he said. If he meant something else, I don't see an explanation. It also jives with his attitude minimizing the negative impact of this disaster.

To point out that he never said what you claimed.

I'll be straightforward. You claimed that jallman said "it's ok to 'pretty much ruin the economy' for ten years." It's impossible to read what he actually said and come away concluding that that's a fair characterization. Nowhere did he even come close to saying it was okay.

And this is the total lack of reading comprehension that I was responding to; I never said it was ok. I said that's what it did and I said it will get better.

Try letting what's actually being posted to you eclipse your desire to engage in a mouthfoaming rant about make believe posts.

And that's pretty much where I am with him now. The ignore feature is in order because he's made it painfully obvious that he isn't interested in discussion by nature of the fact that he won't respond to what is actually said versus what he wants you to have said.

    You said:
I find it so funny that people minimize the effect of Valdez just to try to magnify the effect of the Gulf spill. It was TEH HORRORZ when it happened back in '89 but now everyone is saying "oh it wasn't that bad".
I haven't heard anyone saying that and you still hasn't shown me who has. In other words, BS!

Then you ended with this doozy:
Just goes to prove my point that this, too, will pass.
This too will pass? In other words, that ten years of devastation is ok. that we'll get over it?

You may have meant something different but, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person here who came away with the same impression from this posting. This went way past your cavalier attitude about this disaster. It went right into Crazy Country. There are people on this forum who are personally dealing with this mess. To have such an insensitive attitude, as a few others here do, is shameful.

Try letting what's actually being posted to you eclipse your desire to engage in a mouthfoaming rant about make believe posts.
I'm simply responding to what you wrote. Maybe you're too poetic for me. If that's the case, I apologize for misreading your post and raking you over the coals. But, this post combined with your other cavalier posts about this disaster provided the context for why I read what I did in this post.

Do you honestly not see how this is a mindbogglingly flawed interpretation of what he said?

Saying that something will eventually return to normal is not the same as saying that it's no big deal for it to have happened in the first place.

To put it in terms you might appreciate: If Obama said that New Orleans will eventually rebuild and be stronger than ever, would you interpret that as him saying that it's okay that Katrina devastated it?

Who the hell is saying "oh it wasn't that bad"

Your minimizing of this disaster is embarrasing.
You're one of the dudes that wants to shut down offshore operations; speaking of, "runining the economy". For most of the gulf coast states, the oil and gas industry makes up the lion's share of the economic activity.
