Greece brought to standstill by anti-austerity strike

''Many Greeks are angered by the spending cuts and tax and pension-age rises planned in return for a 110bn-euro (95bn) bail-out from the EU and IMF. ''
Quote from BBC News - Greece brought to standstill by anti-austerity strike

So, what will it take to calm the unrest in Greece then?

Re: Greece brought to standstill by anti-austerity strike

There are parallels in this Country to this mentality.

Cuts are needed to solve the problems or it will never get better and here most unions won't allow for wage roll backs to save jobs. They would like to be out of work than do the right thing.

The same was true back in the 70s when fishermen want to have no limits on the amount of Salmon they could pull out of the Columbia river even in the face of putting themselves permanently out of a job when the fish are all gone.

Some people just don't get it. We are in jeopardy of our nation going away because Obama and the leftists keep taxing and spending knowing it's the wrong thing to do if you're a true American, because history tells us that cutting spending and taxes creates jobs and grows the tax income. Soory but Obama is killing our economy on purpose because like his wife he hates America, but when the rest of are eating from a trash can he'll still be eating like a king or should I say dictator paying for it with money he steals from the tax payers.

    absolutely

and yet the party in power can't even summon the competency to PROPOSE a BUDGET

Next year's budget sinking in deep red ink - The Hill's On The Money

under pelosi/obama we are virtually leaderless

Obama proves every day how much he despises the very fabric of this country and seeks to reconstruct it in the form his mentors so want it to be. He's laying the groundwork to change....everything.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be flying, and he's bitten off far too big a piece to go unnoticed.

As the Dems in power in the late 60s used to say, "Don't poke the bear." Obama has poked the bear.

one can speculate as to president pie-in-the-face's motives

but the results are empirical, there's not much room for argument with the numbers

(he'd have to be awfully stupid not to see these things coming, however, even kids can)

meanwhile, europe's markets and the nikkei dropped drastically a third straight day

    the threat IS existential

    the contagion IS spreading

    surprised?

Can you? Ayers, Wright, Pfluger, etc. The books he's written, and the animosity present in those writings. All the shroud of secrecy around his life and associations.

I'm looking for one sane pro-American confidante or mentor in his life, and I can't find one. He's such the Manchurian Candidate, it's spooky.

Re: Greece brought to standstill by anti-austerity strike

    you are absolutely right

his motives are totally upside down, he's a radical socialist

however, arguing there will perforce go endlessly back and forth, his "supporters" will get all hysterical like they always do and resort to their mean-spirited and petty personal attacks

    ie, it's just not PRODUCTIVE

whereas, if you point out the RESULTS of his actions, his utter and complete INCOMPETENCE, you will get no argument because his side has no defense

it's in the dow, in the jobs numbers, in housing, in the imf's bailout, in the chernobyl-like catastrophe in the gulf, in his entire foreign policy (which, aside his ESCALATION of afghanistan, he has none) in the reg reform that excludes fannie and fred, in the obamacare that has doctors fleeing at fatalistic rates and er's flooded and cerebral palsy patients being dumped on their 70 year old dads whose hearts function at 26%...

    they can't argue with numbers

    so they blame bush

    LOL!

hang in, keep doing what you're doing, YOU'RE RIGHT

kick his asinine ASS, all day, every day, til he's GONE
