I hope Obama keeps his mouth shut until SK reveals their response. We are not the world police and it's not our place to keep Il's hands off of the south. We are South Korea's ally, and we should support them in whatever action they take, but we should not take the lead. If the South decides to wuss out and let this slide, we wouldn't want Obama beating the war drums only to find that no war is forthcoming. Similarly if he sits there pledging sanctions and such only to find out that South Korea has decided on a full out invasion, we'd end up looking weak. For the moment we should do exactly what we're doing - stand behind the findings of the investigation and pledge our support for South Korea.

North Korea deserves to be toppled. Not by us, but by South Korea. North Korea just can't match the military strength of South Korea. The only problem is if China gets involved. How are relations between China and South Korea?

Of course we didn't have that type of technology in 2005.

I'm sorry but they can't. Trying to engage North Korea for any nation is a perrilous task, they do have millions of fanatical and slave driven soldiers who will fight til the end in fear. They fear their own superiors more than the enemy.

To fight North Korea, it would be a hell of a task, with casaulties we haven't seen since Vietnam. A task no one wants to carry out.

Fortunately, this isn't 1950. The only reason why China tolerates North Korea is that they don't have a huge refugee crisis if the government there falls. China sees it's relationship with the US and ROK as far more valuable and doesn't want WWIII. If the North started a war China would probably help the South. The problem with starting a war with NK is that they have a ton of artillery and chemical weapons pointed at Seoul. Victory for the ROK is assured, but civilian casualties would be very, very heavy.

This is some serious **** the repercussions could be dire, I mean it's not as if they could go to war... could they? Highly doubt it, but this has serious implications not only on South Korea but for you in the US too.
I foresee in my crystal ball a rash of defective Naval hulls in North Korea's immediate future.

Would they use them though? Use of those weapons would ensure a joint invasion by pretty much the rest of the world.
