The Dem's had a huge majority in congress and the presidency during the healthcare debate. The result? No public option, no single payer. They got the plan that republicans like Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney have been supportive of, individual mandate.

If republicans would have passed an individual mandate, conservatives would be praising it because it teaches people to be independant and take care of themselves.

If all the dem's were liberal socialists then we'd have all the hospitals government owned and everyone on Medicare.

Just hang around long enough, and that will be the case....

Maybe one day we will have a public option or single payer.

But as of right now we don't.

That's because not all democrats are as liberal as conservatives make them out to be. plain and simple.

No, that is because the people would have revolted. demo's wet dream of total control of every aspect of life in this country will never be the case without a fight.

Really? You think that including a public option, or even a medicare buy in, both of which are popular options amongst the general public, would have caused revolts?

LOL, now that is funny unless your values come directly from the Soviet Union or other Marxist countries. That utopian European model is on fire but that is what you want here. Keep spinning and go down in flames.

What is it about liberal arrogance that believes govt. is the answer if only you throw enough taxpayer money at the problem?

Yeah, judge a President who hasn't even served two years. That just shows how smart you are.

The results speak for themselves except in the liberal world where rhetoric trumps actual results. When are you going to hold Obama to the same standards you held Bush? Seems you and others don't understand our govt. and how it works. Democrats have controlled the Congress since January 2007 and the results are there for all to see, 15 million unemployed Americans, 1.2 million additional discouraged workers, 3 trillion added to the debt in two years, a stimulus plan jammed down our throats that was supposed to cost 842 billion but is now over a trillion and was supposed to cap unemployment at 8%, take over of GM/Chrysler, a sharp expansion of govt. and attempts to do the same with healthcare?

My question to you is when are you going to judge "your" President based upon the promises he made and the failures he has created?

Results?! The man hasn't even completed half of his Presidency, you are clearly showing your ignorance if you think you can judge a President off of less than 2 years. I would wait a decade personally, but judging after less than half of his term is just pure stupidity. I also don't understand why you don't have to be so partisan, why is Obama "my" President? I thought he was President of the United States, not just President for me. And you can't complain about the stimulus when a lot of the money hasn't even been spent. Also, don't complain about jobs when hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created in the past few months. When the unemployment rate is still at 10% in a year then you can start spewing all your partisan hackery. And why would I hold Obama to the same standards as Bush when they both entered office in completely different situations?

I've found one of the core characteristics of some on the right is an inability to realize that not everyone thinks the same way they do, and to assume that their view is the majority view.
