LOL!!! You think your own interpretation of the the phrase "general welfare" is enough to counter what the bill actually says?

    Man do you need help.

So general welfare doesn't include healthcare? Then what does it include?! How is healthcare not general welfare?

Sigh. General welfare is specific to well being. It has never EVER been interpreted to include health care.

If you went down that road you could claim everyone should have a house or a car or a companion of their own because it could be interpreted as general welfare.

You are distorting the Constitution and ignoring the 10th amendment.

Re: Mark Critz Defeats Tim Burns in Pennsylvania Special Election for Murtha's Seat

This inability to understand that Democrats are willing to accept people who don't agree with them 100% of the time is very telling.

I don't agree with Obama 100% of the time, yet I'm still a Democrat.

We Democrats may disagree with our own members from time to time, and may want to replace some (like Specter and Lincoln) but at the same time, we do support even a conservative Democrat over a Republican.

Yeah, Critz may not be perfect, but he's going to be on our side a lot more often than the Republican candidate was. Here in PA, we also have pro-life Democratic Senator Casey too.

As I have said here many times, I'd rather get 50% of what I want than 0%. Politics (and law too for that matter) is all about compromise. That's what reasonable adults do when they want to solve a problem.

The GOP's recent inability to compromise -- its insistence on being the Party of No -- doesn't seem to be helping it much, does it?

I'm not irgnoring the 10th amendment since that only applies to reserved powers. If it is an enumerated power then the federal government has control.

Critz ad: 'I opposed the health care bill' - Josh Kraushaar - POLITICO.com

Democrat Mark Critz, running to succeed the late Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), is branding himself as an opponent of health care legislation in his latest ad Ė a sign that the legislation is a tough sell even in working-class blue-collar Democratic confines.

Responding to an NRCC advertisement accusing him of backing health care reform, Critz says: ďThat adís not true. I opposed the health care bill, and Iím pro-life and pro-gun. Thatís not liberal.Ē

Is repeating the links supposed to do something?

he has said he would have voted against the healthcare reform and climate change bills
    But...

Critz didnít take a public position on the health care legislation during the Democratic nomination process, and declined to answer a survey from The Hill newspaper in March whether he would support the bill.
Critzís campaign spokesman told POLITICO last week that he opposed certain aspects of the health care legislation, but would not support its repeal.

See Texmaster, alls you had to do was go back and read this thread to see how I said the healthcare bill was constitutional. Stop atttempting to use personal attacks to hide the fact that you don't even read the thread you are responding to.
