Change it at the sentencing level, not just say that if the government finds they may be a threat after they have served their sentence, we can hold them. That concept scares me.
I think I understand your point, and agree; but digsbe is talking about repeat offenders. There may be situations where the court determines that at the end of a sentence, an offender has not changed, and therefore would have to commit another offense (due to the requirement to first free the offender) before the court could remedy the situation.
