You didn't see it on the networks because the behind-the-scenes video was only available on "West Wing Week," the Obama administration's new video blog. The six- to seven-minute compilations, which appear each week on the White House's Web site (The White House) and on such video-sharing sites as YouTube, offer what a narrator on each segment calls "your guide to everything that's happening at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."

Well, not everything, of course. But "West Wing Week" is effectively the White House's video vision of itself and its chief occupant, as it would like to be seen, unfiltered by journalists.

WaPo in its usual sycophantic adoring coverage of anything 'Barry' even gets the title to their story wrong here. It should read 'White House video blog offers a progaganda view.'

Wake up people before we turn into today's Thailand!

Politically, I'd call it a brilliant move. Sort of a rolling campaign ad just telling one side of the story (for any given issue/topic). Rahm and crew are nothing if not savvy party managers.

But am going to speculate wildly that if Rove and team had tried this same technique in the previous administration......the blow back from the media would have been deafening. ;)

Well what do you expect? Name me one politician who would makes videos about themselves that weren't favorable. This is just entertainment fluff, like cribs or "behind the scenes" dvd bonus material.

What is so different than about using contemporary technology (blogs) vs a weekly radio address that as far as I know has been done by every President since FDR's fireside chats?

Further proof that no matter what Obama does, some one will start a whine thread about it.

And more proof that no matter waht Obama does, you'll defend him...

Except I did not defend him. I just laughed at people who would bitch at something like this.

Who cares what Obama does on the internet? As long as he doesn't invade another country I'm OK with him.

So? Who cares about them?

obama and rahm the ram, for 2

If you do, maybe you should get a life.

since you're so interested (LOL!), i guess i could divulge harmlessly---

i couldn't care less, i'm too old to care

(i also don't do well anymore with dairy)

it's just politics, presidential pratfalls perpetually providing powerful opportunity

he's comprehensively inept

ask the corps

prosit!

i didn't, cbs did, politico, mr milbank...

cuz IT'S WHAT'S GOING ON, you silly

If it bothers you don't listen to them. Why do some pay so much attention to those that are so irrelevant.

Typical dumbed-down piece hyper-partisan stupidity.

I bet Vichio will be the first one to chime in, this one's a knee-slapper.... :agree

great minds and all...:roll::roll:

you know what else the president cares about?

his agenda

its pointy front is wall street regulatory reform

they've already put in a great deal of work

unfortunately:

Sen. Dick Durbin, moderates clash on bank bill - Chris Frates and Manu Raju - POLITICO.com

durbin's whip

Chris Dodd: Amendments could kill Wall Street bill - Meredith Shiner - POLITICO.com

dead dodd's the drafter of the deed

Blanche Lincoln primary has banking bill in limbo - Carrie Budoff Brown - POLITICO.com

politics perpetually prevail

of course, the house is only in session presently 2 days a week

The do-nothing (but politics) House - Jonathan Allen and Jake Sherman - POLITICO.com

leadership capitulates

after reg reform, our nonplussed president prefers comprehensive immigration and the kerry/graham climate compromise, not to be confused with cap and trade which has been kaput since october

on the border we all saw what happened

Obama doubts 'will' for immigration - Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

he has "no appetite"

and you can forget about climate

Spill leaves energy bill in trouble - Jeanne Cummings and Manu Raju - POLITICO.com

Dems press Obama on climate - Glenn Thrush - POLITICO.com

Climate bill not likely to come up this year - Glenn Thrush and Meredith Shiner - POLITICO.com

heck, leadership doesn't even have enough electricity to PROPOSE A BUDGET

LOL!

and TODAY we learn that obama's 3.5B dollar race-to-the-top contest has hit a STONE WALL

President Obama's school plan riles lawmakers - Kendra Marr - POLITICO.com

you bet, obama cares

so do most mature americans

People spoke about how thick Bush was, but Obama is so lame without his teleprompteur he hasn't held a news conference in ages.
Is it because he lacks a brain?
Can't answer questions on his feet because he has little idea what he is talking about?
Because he's just beginning to forget his stump lines from the election? Yes we can, Hope, Change, Unity and we are the ones we have been waiting for?

Instead we get a constant diet of colonoscopy videos from the his Marxist brains on loan; Rham and Axelrod.
Now that's leadership you can trust.
That is the judgment he said he had in spades.

Obi's handlers must think they can pull a Kagan again, and run on no record or paper trail it seems.
LOL... the retards...
Hey retards... "fool us once..."

After a year in office, Mr. Obama has managed to do what every modern president may have wanted to do but never did: effectively shut out the reporters who work just a few feet from the Oval Office. He has not had a full-scale White House news conference in seven months, the longest such stretch by any president in a decade. And he has made a practice of not taking reporters’ questions at day-to-day events, as other presidents did.

Make that what... 10-months now?
Why is he so shy?
Is it because there is no "there" there?

Those are great observations zimmer, and a poignant question to ask in the face of such media control. But I think it is much more ominous than that. I don't think Obama is shy at all, in fact, I think he is such the narcissist that he probably has a separate bathroom in the Residence bedroom so that he can spend the required (in his mind) hour staring at himself in the mirror.

I think that this lock out of the normal channels of media, and the production of these things that are normally covered and brought to the American public through the MSM channels, is the rise of the propaganda arm of the Obama administration. After any successful dictator knows that the first thing you do in a take over and shift from liberty to control is you shut the media out. Control the message.

There is plenty of "there" there, it is just the type of "there" that should frighten the bejesus out of anyone that values their liberty.
