No. It's not. And I have. You can't get a decent cup of coffee anywhere in L.A.

Ain't that the damned truth. They almost always scorch it. Goes back to my observation about quality service being nonexistent.

I'll stick up for a LA. Unless its changed radially since the late 1990s it wasn't too bad. The traffic and smog were bad but the people were ok.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

It really depends on the area that you go to. Beverly Hills has the reputation for snootiness. I'm living now in a pretty rich area, but more down to Earth. I came from the suburbs here, and you could seriously transplant that for the suburbs of any city. It was really nice out there.

Seriously though, I love this city. I was born in Hollywood. I've been living here my whole life. Beaches, mountains, temperate weather. You can do everything here. The only problem, though, is the politics. Without the stupid politics that we have here, this city would have surpassed New York already (since they killed themselves turning the city into a welfare state). Our planning won't allow anymore development or any mixed-use development downtown (with recent major exceptions). They won't even think of tolling any roads which would bring smarter development. Our business tax is far too high. Cut the business tax, allow more density, and you'll see a lot more development, lower prices, and economic robustness from this city. It sucks that so much potential is wasted here.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. Psalm 24

I only live in my area of NC for the coffee.

    The scholastic opportunities come second.

I'm not counting Newport Beach. Those folks live in a Dreamworld. Never seen so many Ferraris, Lambourghinis, Astin Martins, etc, in my life. They're like Toyotas in that part of the O.C.

    Thanks.
