SO we need laws, to prevent us from enforcing laws to protect legal immigration, and if we enact laws protecting legal immigration, the morons who live in California will boycott AZ?

That's what I have been hoping for, too. We need to get rid of Mayor Papi and the entire city council. Most of the chiefs of police, too. Did you see where the police chiefs were getting on television and reiterating that they would not check immigration status for any reason?

    No, when was this?

Any news I get about LA usually comes from John & Ken, but I only get to listen to them about once a week.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. Psalm 24

Dude, if I wasn't stuck here for work I can assure you that I would not be living here any longer. What I hate about Los Angeles is the people. There is no work ethic whatsoever; quality service is nonexistent, and everyone here has an agenda...to **** you over any way they can. The only friends I have here are all people who came from somewhere else. I think the best thing for the country would be for LA to fall off into the ocean. After I leave, of course.

The story of Los Angeles, and my own pet interpretation of "Hotel California."

This reality was what forced me to stop being such a dip**** in business and learn to hold my own, actually. Of course, it's also made me brutally cynical and distrustful of my fellow man.

With only one exception this is identical to my own situation.

That would mean Bakersfield would be the new port city. Do you really want Bakersfield to become the new thriving metropolis? You're fairly new to California so I don't think you understand that it's not defined by places like L.A. or San Francisco, but by Bakersfield. I had to explain that to my out-of-state friend when he was stunned that Prop 8 was passed.

It was on the 11 o clock news about two weeks ago. Basically, Mayor Papi Chulo got on the news and urged protests (peaceful protests) that all but crippled downtown traffic. Then the police chiefs of LA, Long Beach, and Alhambra got on right after him and stated. emphatically, that they would check no immigration status, period.

Are they refusing to investigate other crimes too? Because that would be awesome.

And... save the city a lot of money since cops wouldn't be necessary any longer.

I can't confirm this but I get the distinct impression that unless a quick fine is involved to go into the city coffers, the police here really aren't all that interested in investigating crimes.

We had a neighbor who's apartment was broken into at Christmas time and no officer even came out on the scene. They took the information over the phone and basically said, "well, good luck".
