Obama revives Russia civilian nuclear pact

BBC News - Obama revives Russia civilian nuclear pact

Quote(Last month they agreed a new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, reducing each country's deployed nuclear arsenal to 1,550 weapons.)

Has anyone seen anything with regards to oversight by both sides of the other side complying with this reduction?

Quote(Also last month the nations agreed to dispose of tonnes of surplus weapons-grade plutonium under a deal signed at a nuclear summit in Washington.)

It will be interesting to read how they plan to dispose of something that has a half-life of around 30,000 years.
Even then it can still kill.
Mankind has only had some semblance of civilization for the last 2000 years, how they plan to keep this stuff hidden and safe from harming nature will be interesting to know.

Contrary to popular belief, something that has a half-life of 30,000 years isn't particularly dangerous.
