Since you obviously don't know me you don't know that I come from a family of a grandfather, father, and four uncles who are all military - and were all Democrats from birth to death.
So, you only prove that either you weren't in a military family and are just making crap up... OR, you prove that you were somehow involved but paid no attention to the world around you to know that people of varying political stripes are involved in the military.
Either way, I don't believe you have any credibility anymore when it comes to discussing such issues; since it seems all you can do is claim obvious stereotypes when it comes to those who defend our nation.
And I would like to note that no one has expressed any anger over a teacher being suspended and a school paper being eliminated because it asked for tolerance for all students including gays.
Seems the anger over high school students' First Amendments rights ends at your own front door.
Anyway, it seems you are confused. The fact that military members trend conservative, doesn't mean that there aren't any liberals in the military.

Your ilk, who call people who disagree with them racists, your ilk who are such partisan hacks that you would side with any liberal no matter what.
Your ilk, who gloss over the fact that two of the boys in question were half latino, your ilk, who think the American flag, on a fake mexican holiday can ba construed as offensive.
Yes, sir, your ilk.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
Maybe the administrator was just trying to enforce United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 Section 8 (d), which states that flags must never be worn as apparel?
What’s wrong with teaching kids to show proper respect for the flag?
