Christian preacher arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin

I'm not the slightest bit put off by pointing out how wrong you are. The only thing abused here is your credibility by your choice to be so wrong.
Please... continue to exhibit your delusions at your leisure - I, for one, get a kick out of goading you into this sort of self-abusing behavior.

Who said that they were?

Apparently Paul. You know, that dude who wrote the letters that condemned homosexuality. Obviously if you question something Paul would say, then you aren't Christian.

Who here thinks Jallman and Goobieman need to get a room? :pimpdaddy:

bow-chica-wow-wow

Holding to bigoted beliefs is also a choice. I think people choose to adopt religious beliefs that reinforce their own prejudices.

God really has nothing to do with it.

True...its more of a hatred than a fear.

Not really.

I am a Christian because I believe, and because I try to follow the teachings, rightly interpreted, of the Bible.

The fact that the Bible defines homosexual activity as a sin has nothing to do with my belief in the Bible. If the Bible said it was fine, I'd shrug and say "okay then."

I personally prefer not to see two guys snogging in public... but actually I'm not all that big on seeing a het couple trying suck each other's tonsils out in a public place either.

I can't speak for everyone, but in my case it has nothing to do with hate, nor with irrational fear. Personally and politically, I could care less what someone does in the privacy of their home/etc.

However, I'm not going to make myself a hypocrite and claim homosexuality is not a sin according to the Bible when it plainly is. I personally don't go running around grabbing people off the street and telling them homosexuality is a sin... but if someone asks what I think, I'm going to tell them what I actually believe and if they don't like it... well, they asked. Don't ask if you don't want to hear the answer.

The woman in the story engaged the preacher in conversation. If she didn't want to hear it, she shouldn't have asked.

I didn't write the Book, I just try my best to follow it. If you're not intrested in what the Book has to say, don't ask. Walk on.

While we're on the subject of this story, I'm actually not that big on the whole "Street preaching" thing myself. In America, I figure it is covered under the 1A in most circumstances, but personally I think it is a waste of time. It is often condudcted in a confrontational manner, and personally I don't think that confronting strangers on the street is an effective method of witnessing the Gospel.

Assuming we have the whole story, I don't think the preacher should have been arrested, but I wouldn't have been doing what he was doing. Not my sort of thing, not a method I think is particularly worthwhile or effective.

This is only true if whatever Paul said (about anything) is a tenet of Christiantiy.

The word "sin" comes from an archery word which means "to miss the mark". All it means to sin is to not do as God intended. However, most gay people feel that god intended for them to be gay, so if they aren't being true to that then they are sinning. So who is right? Your interpretation of sin or theirs?

Speaking in riddles eh. The central tenet to Christianity is belief that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah. As long as someone believes that, no matter what else they believe, they are still a Christian.

That's only true if that is the ONLY tenet of Christiantiy.
That you cite the "central" tenet necessitates that there are others.

The other tenets of Christianity dictate what kind of Christian you are, not whether or not you are a Christian.

Just like you did under Bush.

Your limited vision of history is amusing if not predictable.
Well if you're only about 18 then you would have been 9 when Bush took office, so give'em a break.

That's disgusting. Besides, it's illegal in every state in America for me to **** a pig.

:rofl

Technically, many states don't have zoophilia laws. You could **** a pig in Alaska or Wyoming for example.

No...
"The other tenets of Christianity", along with the "central tenet" define Christianity; the tenets of the various sects define those sects.

If your sect follows those tenets of Christianity, then it is Christian, regardless of what other variations it migh thave; if not, then not.

It's a rare breed that is so committed to being wrong that they actually cut and paste their derangement so it's at their fingertips to declare their wrongness over and over again.

:laughat:

I'm sorry -- we adults are trying to have a conversation and as such, you're only worth the time it takes to do just that

I've always felt that salt/light was the best way of witnessing, myself.

Adults admit when they are wrong and attempt to grow from it. You are staying committed to a shattered argument, a shattered credibility.

Plus you cutting and pasting like this...that's pretty ****in childish, sport. I can see you sitting there with your fingers in your ears going "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA".

Want me to thump the propellor on your hat and make it spin for you?
