Congressman arrested at Washington immigration rally

So, how would you do it?

IMO, the problem is two fold. The illegals who are here. and the illegals that cross over into the US daily. First priority should be to control the borders.

I agree thought, I doubt controlling the broader would solve the problem. However I can agree that it might lessen the problem, if we control the borders.

Then try to help Mexico's economy by buying things ect. The reason they come down here in the first place is because the Mexican economy is **** compared to here. I would also get rid of some of the corrupt politicians over their that take money from the people to fund their own habits ect.

This congressman is SCUM that told people to stay AWAY from AZ and not buy ANYTHING there to protest SB 1070 (illegal immigration law).

**** him! Racist piece of crap!!!

I am proud that this man stood up against Washington in a peaceful manner. :) However, I am also saying we need to crack down on illegals just not what Arizona is doing.

If they really wanted to and really wanted to is the key words here to stop illegals they should be treated as illegal drugs. Get got with illegal drugs and they can confiscate your car or home. Hire an illegal and let them confiscate your business. Businesses would have to seriously check out an employee. Not going to happen , this is just politicians being politicians.

As for the foolishness of the AZ law illegals will simply get counterfeit ID. It is not that hard these days.
The Arizona law in one way makes sense but on the other it gives cops a lot of freedom to harass.

Aern't all of the politicians in Mexico corrupt ? AT that is what the story appears to be.

That's a great point on the "counterfeit ID" probability.

This man is going up against a stupid bill in non violent ways. He is not a racist just because he thinks this bill is unjust. Your the one who needs to wake up, and smell the coffee, because you consider this to be a fair law, and you call yourself a libertarian when it is making the government bigger not smaller.....

Look at this in contrast to this Congressman protesting

Rep. Leonard Boswell candiadted said
I think we should catch ’em, we should document ’em, make sure we know where they are and where they are going,” said Pat Bertroche, an Urbandale physician. “I actually support micro-chipping them. I can micro-chip my dog so I can find it. Why can’t I micro-chip an illegal?

And for whoever that was in this thread who called Congressman G a racist how about this sample of warped out DNA equating illegal aliens to dogs!!!!

This is too old to post as a separate thread so it's here.

There is both a liberal and conservative dilemma.

The liberal wants to have a more lienant approach to immigration; while providing a generous welfare system. However, a generous welfare system is unsustainable without strict immigration control (this does not necessarily mean less or no immigration).

The conservative wants to have a cheap influx of labor, yet does not want to pay for a generous welfare system. A generous welfare system would be in less demand if wages were naturally higher.

The solution is crystal clear: Secure the borders! As has been proposed in other threads, a real fiscal stimulus would be:

To build the Great Wall of America

I have to disagree. The great wall of America would be economically stimulative, support a strong national defense, and become a tourist destination.

An attack on the US is highly unlikely, however an internal attack from the smuggling of a nuclear device (or even dirty bomb) through the open border would cause great despair. Bush should have perused this avenue prior to implementing a policy on policing the world.

1. the federal govt refuses to endorse federal law on the border

2. so obama throws stones at the PEOPLE OF ARIZONA for doing HIS job

3. what's his solution to the real problem america faces surrounding this issue?

4. "comprehensive immigration reform," all in his party proclaim

5. fair enough

6. but WHERE is it, WHEN, HOW?

7. it doesn't exist

8. indeed, the president punted this problem

9. and pedro and paloma are pissed

President Obama's immigration hedge shocks left - Jeanne Cummings - POLITICO.com

10. obama ADMITTEDLY has NO blueprint for the border beyond POLITICIZING it
