Arizona lawmakers modify immigration law

You have to eliminate the economic base that is drawing them here.
You do so by cracking down on the companies that are employing them for below market wages.
You prosecute the companies that are employing them.
Once that dries up, no jobs....means less people coming seeking work.

Of course, corporate America doesn't want this to happen because they like the cheap labor. The legislators that are tied to the corporations aren't going to do it, because they want to please the corporations.

That's a start. However, the solution is definitely much more difficult.
How do you deal with the millions of people who are already here. How do you deal with families where some of the children are US Citizens?
How do you deal with people that were brought over here by their parents and are now in their 20's-30's and have lived in the United States their entire lives?
These are the questions that "amnesty" deals with and gets most people riled up.
I think there has to be some form of Amnesty. Not a blanket Amnesty program for everyone here, but a selective Amnesty program which isn't easy.

We also have to address the issue with corruption on both sides of the border. The answer isn't "Wait in line", because common folk aren't even given a place in that line. Bribes and corruption ensure that those getting the immigration slots are those that are financially able to secure it. As long as there is no avenue for people to immigrate, they will do so illegally especially if they are desperate enough to try to make a better life for themselves and their children.

Fair enough. We would probably deal with it the same way except that I am a bit more draconian about it.

Also, I don't think it's big corporations hiring illegals. I think it's likely smaller businesses and farm operations hiring them.

I would see businesses that do hire illegals fined into bankruptcy along with jail time for knowingly violating the law. Also, I don't care about families with half the children being US citizens and the other half not. They may take their children with them upon deportation or leave them behind for adoption. The choice is rests with them but it needs to be made on the spot. They are criminals; at least we are giving them the luxury of keeping their families together rather than carting them off to prison.

As far as I know there is no law that says illegals can not take their anchor babies with them. So illegals have three choices-

1.leave the child to be raised with a relative or friend who is here legally.
2.give the child up for adoption, either the state or a nice married couple can raise that child.
3.take the child with them and once the child if of legal age he or she can return to US.

Deport them if caught. If they are least 24 years old they should at least be an amnesty citizen due to Kennedy,Reagan and other pro-illegals in office who gave them in amnesty(Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986) in exchange for hollow promises of enforcement. And if they really been here most of there lives then that means that they already had plenty of time to get themselves legalized and go through the proper channels.

As long as there is no avenue for illegals to work here, live here, mooch off tax payers or send the kids to school then illegals will leave to places that does mind illegal immigration.

Being in the "minority" is not necessarily a bad thing, nor does it mean that being in the "majority" is right.

History is full of atrocities that the "majority" of the people "believed in" at the time.:shock::shock:

73 percent. That's not a majority, that's a landslide.

And this isn't an "atrocity", so save the drama.

Does Arizona have a serious problem with white illegal aliens? And again, no one is going to just get stopped and questioned. All the law does is permit an immigration status check during the course of other lawful contact with a suspect.

I'm ok with that.

A lot of "Hispanic" people are white people who speak Spanish.
Just saying.

Do you have some kind of support for these claims.

Corporate America has been paying below market wages?
What companies specifically?

Also I was not aware that you could just buy your way to the front of the legal immigration line. Where do you go to do that? Who specifically do you pay?

And a majority of Virginians supported laws against inter-racial marriage.

Is your point that the majority is always morally right?

Apples to oranges.People want these law breakers that come here illegally dealt with

The people of this country are the bosses....... if the majority of the bosses says "this is the way we want it", it damned well better be the way it is or some bozo is going to get fired.

Did that clear it up for you?

Except that this isn't about "people of color"; it's about criminals. Justice is blind to color...why aren't you?

If your complaint is just about people who break the law and get away with it, why aren't you as gung ho about all the people, other than Mexicans, who break the law and get with worse crimes like murder, robbery, etc.?

Because this thread is about an immigration law. If you have some interest in discussing those other crimes, feel free to start a thread on it.

This law was definitely made against a specific ethnicity though, you can't deny that. How many white people will be stopped and questioned? Doubtful many at all. Justice may be "blind", but the government and the law is not.
How many white people cross over our southern borders every day illegally? If we had a white European invasion over our southern borders than perhaps you would have a valid point.
