This has nothing to do with partisanship for me. This has everything to do with the ability of the US to assert it's own sovereignty over our energy supply. Frankly I don't give a **** what conservatives, liberals, or anyone else has to say on the subject. I'm quite adept at thinking for myself, so that's what I'll do.

    And another expert weighs in.

Yes, we need to investigate. I never suggested otherwise. But what does Deepwater Horizon have to do with exploration? Nothing. So why is exploration being shut down?

If what you are posting is correct, then this is just wrong.

I strongly support off-shore drilling, but I think this is a good idea. If we are going to do it, we should do it as safely as possible.

wait, this was an "exploration rig"?

    Besides, we haven't stopped drilling.

This was a very old rig, nothing compared to what we build today.

Does this lead you to believe that the administration is being too cautious or perhaps there is an ulterior motive, such as environmentalism?

The latter, its being used as an excuse to ban off shore drilling.

Didn't the obama administration just authorize off shore drilling though?

I did a double take and then saw that the key word here ia "l new " as in not already there and working, new.
