No outrage here. Love it.

Obama tried to pass yet another bill without giving anyone the chance to read it.

Your understanding of the process of passing a bill is hilariously limited.

Don't you get tired of being absurd?

Everyone had plenty of time to read it. It was introduced on April 15, and posted on the internet.

Read the article, it has detailed discussions about the objections to the bill, which is about the content of it - obviously people have read it. Not a single complaint about not having enough time to read it.

Try not just making up the same old excuses.

No you're right. I was thinking of something else.

But I do support their decision even if they have read it :)

But Republicans insist government bailouts are still possible. They pointed to language, for instance, in a chapter on liquidating failed banks that established a “strong presumption” of losses for creditors and shareholders. Some Republicans say those losses should be mandatory.

Senator Judd Gregg, Republican of New Hampshire, said Republicans wanted to prevent a collapse like the one in 2008 but warned that Democrats were in danger of strangling the economy with excessive regulation.

“We shouldn’t put in place a regulatory regime that overly reacts and, as a result, significantly dampens our capacity to have the most vibrant capital and credit markets in the world,” he said.

Back to square one.

Have you ever complained that the Democrats passed health care reform despite the polls? If so, how do you reconcile that with this? The people want this, don't stand in their way, right?

just before the mid-term elections, say late october, don't be surprised when citibank is allowed to go down the tubes
then the democrats will point to the republican obstruction of financial reform as the reason why it so massively failed
the election could turn on that single event - which is totally within the democrats ability to control

over there, hoist by their own petard, will be the republicans
if this happens, be prepared to explain to your grandchildren when they ask, "what was a 'republican'?"

LOL The people wanted health care reform too but not the far left socialistic plan the president shoved down their throat.

This is no different. Obama thought he could shame the republicans to support his version of financial reform. It failed.

Once again Obama displays the lie of working with the other side for all to see.

Where's the outrage? People have been throwing out polls saying a majority of Americans opposed Obamacare but the Democrats passed it anyway. Well, 2/3rds of Americans support financial reforms, yet the Republicans are blocking it.
Poor analogy. A majority of Americans support healthcare reform, too - it was the Obama brand they found offensive.

The irony is that Goldman, Lehman, Fannie, Freddie, etc, have DEEP ties to the Democratic party. This is just a smoke screen to paint Republicans into a corner...and it's not working.

You're making up your own facts again.

The polls show people support financial reform 2 to 1 - and majorities support Obama's version of it.

About two-thirds of Americans support stricter regulations on the way banks and other financial institutions conduct their business, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Majorities also back two main components of legislation congressional Democrats plan to bring to a vote in the Senate this week: greater federal oversight of consumer loans and a company-paid fund that would cover the costs of dismantling failed firms that put the broader economy at risk.
...
But compared with congressional Republicans, Obama has a clear advantage. A slim majority - 52 percent - of all Americans says they trust Obama over the GOP on the issue, while 35 percent favor the Republicans in Congress. Independents prefer Obama 47 to 35 percent, with 16 percent trusting neither side on the issue.

Most back stricter financial reform, advantage Obama - Behind the Numbers

Ah, yes, that explains why the Democrats are coming down harder on financial firms. All those deep ties.

Why Goldman? Why not Lehman? Why not Fannie or Freddie? Why not Bear Stearns or Merrill Lynch?

This is orchestrated. If you sacrifice your own, you can CONTROL THE MESSAGE in the process.

This is nothing but posturing.

Yeah yeah yeah, take it to the conspiracy forums.

The party of 'Hell, no' and their loyal followers.

It's almost cultish how they never question anything Mother does. She's been taxing them (middle class Republicans) for years and yet they turn a blind eye. Then a Democrat gives them a tax break and he's the devil incarnate.

Truly fascinating the willful ignorance.

Of course without evidence and those pesky links, your post is really just a waste of space.

So what in your emmenently qualified(lol) financial experience leads you to believe this isn't another turd like the health debacle. I'll give you a hint, this bill sucks too.
